It requires the following software to be installed: - flac and metaflac (flac files only) - vorbis-tools (ogg files only) - faac and faad (aac files only) - lame and madplay (mp3 files only) - alac-decoder and mpeg4ip-utils (ALAC decode) - ffmpeg (ALAC encode, wma decode) - mplayer (wma decode) - mp4v2-utils (AAC, ALAC, WAV decode) BAC is now optimized for multiprocessing on multicore systems: a tunable number of cores can be used for simultaneous conversions. -

audiokonverter is a service menu (and also a commandline utility) to easily convert from MP3, OGG, AMR, AAC, M4A, FLAC, WMA, RealAudio, Musepack, Wavpack, WAV and movies to MP3, OGG, M4A, WAV and FLAC in Konqueror by right-clicking on them. It needs ffmpeg/avconv, oggenc, oggdec, faac, faad, flac, mplayer and lame to work. id3lib is optional for full functionality. Also optional are vorbis-tools and metaflac for handling other metadata. See README how/where to get that software. Be sure about needed software when installing prebuilt packages! -

smthplayer is a cross-platform player for the smooth streaming format
...However, you can configure the program by yourself by reading the "Configuration" section in the README file. I also provide a preconfigured Windows version that includes a full mplayer pack (mencoder is included, even if it's not necessary to smthplayer), Faad 2.7 and bgrun.exe (needed in Windows to run background processes), because it's more difficult for Windows users to find precompiled binaries. I've not checked the binaries (I've just found them on the Internet), so use them AT YOUR OWN RISK. The program has been SUCCESSFULLY tested on Ubuntu 10.04 - 11.04 - 12.04, Windows XP and Windows 7. -

A fairly simple bash script that runs through every .m4a file in the current directory, converts them to .mp3, then deletes the originals. Depends on faad and lame. Future updates will traverse subdirectories recursively to convert entire libraries.
