This project provides a Live DVD for the multibootusb program, for installing multiple Linux Distros on to a single Pen drive and able to boot from it. This is a portable system, which does not require any installation. Video Below. This system can be started through the DVD Drive OR VirtualBox (See Below). This .iso file can also be written on to a small dedicated pen drive ( ~ 1 GB ) through this DVD's multibootusb program and further used for writing linux images on to other pen drives ( not on the same ! ) thereby making everything portable. Note: Click "+ Other Locations" on the file manager for opening local disks, while browsing for images to write through this dvd's multibootusb program. Also note that the pen drive needs to be in fat32 format for proper booting. if in other formats, for eg. ntfs, you can use the GParted program that is in this dvd, to reformat it to fat32 ( will cleanup all data ). The Pearl 7.1 base (18.04) is where this version starts but has many familiar features the folks familiar with Elementary OS and will feel at home but not quite because as Usual we like to twist it up a bit. The just released of Elementary OS is great and now the Pearl Linux version of Elementary OS with the standard Pearl defaults including compiz for desktop effects available threw the Pearl Window Manager Switcher. For updates we chose to not use the normal way we do updates on other current Pearl releases which is by means of PearlUpdate, which is our version of MintUpdate from Linux Mint. Updates are handled with the default of the Pantheon Desktop Environment to keep the Elementary OS feel as default. Easily installs UEFI on older Mac Book Pro's. Pearl Surf was designed to run from a usb thumb drive made the the Ubuntu USB-Creator. We included all you need to start browsing with Chromium and Thunderbird for an email client. Also included for added multimedia functions is Clementine, Banshee and totem. I decided that I was not looking to have the fastest loading live OS as from what I see is all anyone is concerned about, but to acually take a full minute maybe even 1.5 to load and have a decent OS to work with. It loads very fast on many types of systems we check our systems on from net books to all brands of desktops. This is also a great system for you to add software of your choosing for your own custom built system. Ubuntu Software Center is installed for you to add to this lightweight release of Pearl. Java and Flash support built in. -
