TurboVNC is a high-performance, enterprise-quality version of VNC based on TightVNC, TigerVNC, and X.org. It contains a variant of Tight encoding that is tuned for maximum performance and compression with 3D applications (VirtualGL), video, and other image-intensive workloads. TurboVNC, in combination with VirtualGL, provides a complete solution for remotely displaying 3D applications with interactive performance. TurboVNC's high-speed encoding methods have been adopted by TigerVNC and libvncserver, and TurboVNC is also compatible with any other TightVNC derivative. TurboVNC forked from TightVNC in 2004 and still covers all of the TightVNC 1.3.x features, but TurboVNC contains numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes relative to TightVNC, and it compresses 3D and video workloads much better than TightVNC while using generally only 5-20% of the CPU time of the latter. Using non-default settings, TurboVNC can also be made to compress 2D workloads as "tightly" as TightVNC.

m23 is a free software distribution system (license: GPL), that installs (via network, starting with partitioning and formatting) and administrates (updates, adds / removes software, adds / removes scripts) clients with Debian, (X/K)Ubuntu and LinuxMint. It is used for deployment of Linux clients in schools, institutions and enterprises. The m23 server is controlled via a web interface. A new m23 client can be installed easily in only three steps. Group functions and mass installation tools make managing a vast number of clients comfortable. The integration of existing clients (with .deb-based distributions) into the system is possible, too. Client backup and server backup are included to avoid data loss. With the integrated virtualisation software, m23 can create and manage virtual m23 clients, that run on real m23 clients or the m23 server. Scripts and software packages (for installation on clients) can be created directly from the m23 web interface.

HyperVM is a multi-tiered, multi-server, multi-virtualization software product allowing a VPS vendor to provision, manage and delegate Xen or OpenVZ based virtual private servers. HyperVM allows users to manage VPS' across multiple servers transparently: it provides a mechanism to manage their networking configuration (IP address, gateway) from the control panel itself, and has a full-fledged IP address pool to facilitate large scale management. HyperVM also comes integrated with Kloxo hosting control panel which means that, using HyperVM, the provider can deploy a full fledged web hosting system out-of-the-box, HyperVM is tightly integrated with Kloxo, and all Kloxo functions can be accessed from HyperVM without needing to log into Kloxo.

The HeV project offers an open source solution for building “Virtual Private Clouds” with servers that may be indifferently located either within the user organization or dedicated servers offered by many hosting providers.

This project proposes the development of a system that automatically balances the load of virtualized servers, monitoring their resources and migrating virtual machines if necessary. The main goal of Vmbal is to improve the usage of server resources.

virtualcontrol is a configuration and monitoring tool for QEMU/KVM instances on a linux box. virtualcontrol primarily uses the KVM command line tools to do its job. Apart from trivial functions like starting and stopping virtual machines, virtualcontrol also allows freezing/thawing virtual machines (snapshot including memory dump), KVM machine migration and advanced storage functions like HA and dedicated storage solutions (OpenSANd).
