[Dev-C++] Allegro Help

I tried to install Allegro for the Dev compiler but no luck. I followed the directions for my XP machine and set the envoronment and autoexec.bat to the specifications listed in the text file (I installed it in the default directory listed in the file, c:\Dev-Cpp). When I type 'gcc -v' in the command prompt I get a responce saying the directory and the version. However, after I 'fix.bat mingw32' and type 'make' it says "Please specify your MingW32 directory via MINGDIR=", but I did specify it in the autoexec.bat!
