[Dev-C++] Scheduling algorithms

hi all..
I want to get some guidelines to meet my following requirement...
I want to know abt the differnt types of sheduling algorithms used in real
time systems...
Instead of using the pthread concept... 
i want to use some other concept...
Can anyone help me ..Can anyone give me guidelines...
I am grateful to the earlier help get from this group....
