Please note that Dev-C++ doesnt support C+, and for C++ it uses you should switch to the current C++ standard. Correct include file should be #include <iostream> Then you might use std::cout without a problem. By the way - do you often get compiler errors on line 29 of 7-line programs? /Per W On Wed, 5 Nov 2003, Don Rutherford wrote: > I am new to C++: I have had a devil of a job to find a compiler to go with Windows XP. > I thought Dev -C was the answer until I tried it. > It works beautifully for my C progs but even on the shortest C+ progs (say 7 lines) it flags up a compile error for line 29! > It says: warning - backward error - no such file. > > It will not allow "cout" unless I have #include<iostream.h> > and if I do have that it flags up a red line error. > > Can anyone point out the where the trouble is? > > Regards. > |
