Go to your project options and select the type "Win32 Console".
But be aware that once a program ends, it ends; it won't stop waiting 
until you read the output unless you tell it to; three ways to do it are:

cin.ignore();   // C++ only

or

system("pause");

or

getchar();


Use one of them whenever appropriate, and the program will stop at that 
point waiting for user input.
