[Dev-C++] strange compile errors

I am getting strange compile results with my libraries. When I have all the 
files in one directory the library will build successfully. But when I put 
it one level deep in the directory, I get results saying that it could not 
find a certain object file when it was linking everything into the library 
file. I checked the directories under the tools/compile menu and they were 
correct. With my project settings, the object files should have been created 
in the same directory as everyting else. What else should I check?
