The thing is im learning C++ with a complete guide to programming in C++ by ulla and peter prinz and this book has programs which require that ansi escape sequences can be output to the compilers console window. but not with dev-C++ apparently, i must of tried adjusting every possible setting to no avail. what the hell?!! why do they publish a book that expects the user to use seeminly redundant ansi.sys for XP win32 consoles that the bloodshed compiler generates. i can find no way of creating an msdos ansi.sys friendly exe with the bloodshed compiler. Is there anyway around this or are there other compilers that work with ansi.sys im at my wits end over this nonsense. are there libraries that could give me the equivalent of ansi.sys or should i manipulate the bios in some way. any help would be much appreciated. --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo!
