Always try finding that reference in the libraries via a text search, then insure that you are linking it in. I.e. $ pushd (or cd) /yourPath/dev-cpp/lib $ grep -r 'WSAStartup@8' * Binary file libws2_32.a matches Binary file libwsock32.a matches $ grep -r 'socket@12' * Binary file libws2_32.a matches Binary file libwsock32.a matches $ grep -r 'WSAGetLastError@0' * Binary file libws2_32.a matches Binary file libwsock32.a matches Emilio Arocho <elc...@gm...> wrote: Any time I try to compile a C file that uses sockets the compile fails. I get a bunch of linker errors like this: undefined reference to WSAStartup@8 undefined reference to socket@12 undefined reference to WSAGetLastError@0 I have programmed simple stuff with Dec-C++ and it has worked wonderfully well. What gives with these socket errors? Thanks, Emilio <snip> Alfred P. Reaud |
