Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5116366 By: brandwizard Thanks for your answer. The problem occurs only if the tiff file has jpeg compression. Both xnview and netpbm's tifftopbm also have problems reading this kind of file. netpbm says: "tifftopnm: don't know how to handle PHOTOMETRIC_YCBCR" and xnview says: "can't read file". I will submit my question to the libtiff mailing list. Thanks. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5116202 By: gnuwin32 I've (finally) looked into this. It appears that this behavior is by design, so actually it is a feature. Basically grep behaves in this way because it can also grep binary files (this s advertised as an option and a possible use of grep), for which conversion to CRLF would be inappropriate. In general, I'm not in favor of changing behavior that is by design; instead one should address the maintainer. The one possibility I see for such a request would be a combination of the -a (--text) option with CRLF conversion, since then the user explicitly requests all files to be viewed as text files, and so all output might be regarded as text output. In the port of grep-2.5.3, I will for the time being implement this combination of --text and CRLF output, provided no-one objects, beforehand or later. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5116157 By: gnuwin32 It depends on what you want to achieve. If you want a one-time conversion of tiff files to jpeg or gif, then you can use most converter programs. E.g. with XnView (http://www.xnview.com) it is possible to do such a conversion, even in a batch series. However, if you want to include such a conversion possibility in a more general way in another program, this is probably best done by using a library. I'm not sure that libtiff is the best choice for this (there is no tiff2jpeg program provided with libtiff), but you may get a more authorative answer from the libtiff mailing list (http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff). Perhaps the netpbm library is more appropriate; you should first convert the tiff file to pnm format and then the pnm file to jpeg or gif. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5115465 By: brandwizard Hi, I need to create jpeg and gif thumbnails from tiff files. I'm using ImageMagick for that but when a tiff file is jpeg compressed I'm getting errors. I was told that I need to use LibTIFF library. The problem is that I don't have much experience with all of this and really confused. What should I do in order to create previews in my .NET project. Should I use a dll (what dll?) should I use command lines (I couldn't find any command line examples). Thank you very much for your help! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5113577 By: kl31n I completed the binary diff. Substituting every "OD0A" with "0A", so "\r\n" with "\n", the gif file that gets generated works ok. Somebody has an idea on how to fix this in the library? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5099583 By: kl31n I'm having some strange problems with plotutils. I'm using eclipse 4.0 + mingw c++ 3.4.5 + libplotter from plotutils 2.4.1. Everything compiles and links (statically) ok, but the output of a GIFPlotter is wrong(that's to say the file can't be visualized). I tried to use a PNGPlotter with libpng 1.2.8 + zlib 1.2.3 (also statically linked), but no improvement. The same code works ok under Linux with Plotutils 2.5.x both with a GIFPlotter and a PNGPlotter. SVGPlotter and PSPlotter work ok both under Linux an Windows. Apparently the genereated .gif and .png files are slightly shorter than what they are in the linux version, but I didn't do a binary diff yet. I tried to add "plotter.flushpl();" but didn't help. This is how the compiler is invoked: g++ -IC:\Program Files\GnuWin32\include -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -osrc\m2m.o ..\src\m2m.cpp for the linker: g++ -LC:\Program Files\GnuWin32\lib -Xlinker -static -om2m.exe src\m2m.o src\colormap.o -lplotter The code I can replicate the problem with is the most basic one can think of and can be found below. I would really appreciate some help on this because I would like to stop using a linux virtual machine on a system that works poorly already(but on which I can't really change much due to company cr...ehm, policies). Thanks for your attention, kl31n //BEGIN CODE---file: m2m.cpp #define X_DISPLAY_MISSING #include <plotter.h> #include <fstream> int main() { std::ofstream output("c:\\test.gif"); Plotter::parampl("BITMAPSIZE", (void*)"1000x1000"); GIFPlotter plotter(std::cin, output, std::cerr); plotter.openpl(); plotter.fspace (0.0, 0.0, 1000.0, 1000.0); plotter.flinewidth (0.25); plotter.pencolorname ("red"); plotter.erase (); plotter.fmove (250.0, 250.0); plotter.fcont(750.0,750.0); plotter.closepl(); return 0; } ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Hi GNUWin32, I'm the author of the Internet site http://www.livinginternet.com/ with a lot of input from original creators of the Internet. I was lucky enough to get the FreeOpenSourceSoftware and FreeLibreOpenSourceSoftware domains, and am donating then to the FOSS community. I have set up a wiki at the domains to provide a home for FOSS, as separate from Commercial Open Source Software (COSS) with some published code but closed elements for advanced functionality that potentially leads right back to proprietary lock-in. The link to "FOSS Philosophy" starts with a quote from Adam Smith (!), and describes the clear FOSS / COSS separation I believe important to help the FOSS brand continue to succeed. I've seeded the Wiki with starting information, including basic information on GNUWin32. Of course feel free to add. Please spread the word to let others know of the launch. A link to the site somewhere on the GNUWin32 site would be great. http://freeopensourcesoftware.org/ Cheers, Bill -- Bill Stewart Founder, Eseri.net http://Eseri.net/ p: 613-796-8529 |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5083009 By: benpollinger Hello all, I'd like to use gsar in a batch to process a file thus: gsar -sDUMMYPATH -rC:\Program Files\MyApp -f MyApp.ini ...but gsar says "command error, not a valid decimal number : \Pr" I tried enclosing the replacement in quotes but to no avail. Any ideas? thanks, Ben ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Hi, I'm having a serious and very urgent problem with GSL 1.8 on Visual C ++ 2003. I'm trying to use Levenberg Marquadt and I'm obtaining the following run time error. Run-Time Check Failure #0 - The value of ESP was not properly saved across a function call. This is usually a result of calling a function declared with one calling convention with a function pointer declared with a different calling convention. At first I tought it was a problem with my program but even testing the sample program found here http://www.csse.uwa.edu.au/programming/gsl-1.0/gsl-ref_35.html gives me exactly the same error. I'm in big troubles, since I have no clues on what to do. Thanks. Run-Time Check Failure #0 - The value of ESP was not properly saved across a function call. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5076556 By: mz2ptc0 My installation of libpng came with "zlib1.dll" version 1.2.2.1828. I have downloaded version 1.2.3 from www.zlib.org and installed it in %windir%\System32 which is the first directory in my PATH global environment variable. I renamed the version in GnuWin32\bin to "zlib1.dll.bak". Everything is working but I am wondering why libpng did not come with the latest version, or should I download a newer version of the package? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
