Pros: Composer 2.5 feels like a very practical coding model because it is built for the place I actually use it: Cursor. It is fast, focused, and tuned for agentic coding work instead of trying to be a general-purpose chatbot that also happens to write code.
The cost-performance balance is the biggest win. If a model can stay near the top of coding-agent rankings while being dramatically cheaper than heavier flagship models, that matters a lot for everyday development.
I also like that it feels optimized for real Cursor workflows. It can help with multi-file edits, repo exploration, implementation, debugging, and agent-style tasks without making every run feel slow or expensive.Cons: Composer 2.5 is still not the model I would blindly trust for every hard architecture decision or risky production change. I would still review diffs, run tests, and use stronger models when the task needs deeper reasoning.
It is also tied closely to Cursor, which is great if you already live there, but less ideal if you want a model you can use everywhere with the same workflow.Overall: Composer 2.5 is one of the more useful coding models because it is fast, affordable, and clearly built around real developer workflows.
