To stop using and being billed for paid Google Workspace with a personal Gmail account, cancel your subscription.
Review cancellation options
You have two cancellation options:
- Cancel just your Google Workspace subscription.
- Cancel all your subscriptions and subscription data.
With either cancellation option, you lose access to premium Google Workspace services, your Admin console, and any billing records right away. You still have access to some Google Workspace services, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Meet, as well as other Google services, such as YouTube, Google Photos, and Google Ads, through your personal Gmail address. Personal data associated with these services is retained.
Review billing impacts
You can cancel your Google Workspace subscription during your free trial, and you won't be charged.
After paid service starts, if you’re billed on a monthly Flexible Plan, canceling Google Workspace immediately stops you from incurring new charges for Google Workspace services. If you’re on an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan, you’ll be charged for the remaining balance of your contract.
You might still be charged for services used since your last payment. Learn more later on this page.
Option 1: Cancel Google Workspace

Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.

Go to Menu
Billing > Subscriptions.
Requires having the Billing Management administrator privilege.

Click your subscription

Depending on your subscription, you may not need to click More. -
Select a reason for canceling
- For your Workspace subscription, click Cancel My Subscription.
- If a status message appears, click Close.
Option 2: Cancel all subscriptions & data

Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.

Go to Menu
Account > Account settings > Account management.
Requires having the Domain settings administrator privilege.
- (Optional) To save your invoices and transaction history, click Go to Payment accounts and follow the instructions in:
- Cancel your subscriptions:
- Click Subscriptions.
- Click your subscription
Depending on your subscription, you may not need to click More. - Select a reason for canceling
- For your Workspace subscription, click Cancel My Subscription.
- If a status message appears, click Close.
- Click Delete subscription data.
Resubscribe to Google Workspace later
If you cancel your subscription to Google Workspace with a personal Gmail address, you can resubscribe at any time with your Gmail address to regain access to the Admin console and premium Workspace features. For details, go to Sign up for Google Workspace.

Yes. If you have funds remaining after canceling your subscription, contact us to request a refund.
After you cancel your subscription, you’re billed at the start of the next month for any outstanding charges in your account. The amount is calculated according to your service and billing plan:
- Flexible Plan—You’re charged for the days you used the service. For example, if you cancel on the 15th of this month, you're billed for half a month of service.
- Annual/Fixed-Term Plan—You’re charged for the remaining balance of your commitment, if you have one.
