These instructions are only for organizations and users with Meet hardware. For help with Google Meet on the web, Android, and iOS, go to the Google Meet Help Center.
You can change the layout of a meeting on a Google Meet hardware device. For example, if a lot of people are sharing ideas, you might want to see as many participants as possible. Or, if someone is giving a presentation, you might want to see only the speaker and the slides.
Layout options
- Auto (dynamic)—Allow Meet to choose the layout for you. This option displays other users in portrait tiles.
- Tiled (legacy)—When there is no presentation, this layout shows a grid view of equal-sized images. When there is a presentation, the presentation is shown in a larger format with speakers shown next to it. This layout does not display other users in portrait tiles.
- Spotlight—Full-screen layout that displays the presentation, active speaker, or pinned user. This layout does not display other users in portrait tiles.
- Sidebar—One main image of a participant or the presentation. The images of other meeting participants are on the side. This layout does not display other users in portrait tiles.
