I have two Android tablets here that belonged to my late brother.
I do not know the PIN he used on both devices.
I would ike to erase all contents of these devices and give them to friends if I can.
Are Android tablets locked to a particular accounts like Apple’s are linked to an Apple ID?
If so, how can I unlock and erase these tablets. Any help would be appreciated as I don’t know what confidential information, if any is stored on them.
I would rather recycle than destroy them if I can. I’d like to find them a good home.

as far as i am aware
you cannot restore an Android tablet to factory defaults without the google account linked to the tablet. you might be able to just go into factory data reset,, but that depends on the tablet manufacturer. on Nexus devices, go to settings>backup and restore> factory > data reset. this might work. the last version of android I used was 7.1.1, on a Nexus 6, from 2014. so it might be different where those settings are. and because Android is highly modified by every manufacturer, you might have to go hunding for the relevant setting(s).
reseting tablets
If you do not know the pin to your brothers android tablets, you will need to reset them through the recovery mode. Do note is that if a Google account is linked to these tablets, resetting these tablets that way will trigger Google FRP if it has been enabled. Depending on the android version, it could be very difficult to bypass that restriction. Just a word of warning, especially if you don't know your brothers account details.
Also, if you are fully blind, talkback will not work during this state. You will need to do your research such as searching up the tablets model number to try and find the button sequence and how many times you need to press each button so you can get into recovery mode and navigate recovery mode easily. You do not need to rely on the touchscreen in most cases.
