Materials
Cascade Eco Plus (3 skeins)
US 6 needles, or for gauge of 22.4 sts & 28 rows per 4
6-7 buttons
Pattern (for 38 chest with -1 ease)
BACK Cast on 104 sts. Work in rib [RS- k2,(p1,k2) WS-p2,(k1,p2)] for 17.5 in.
ARMHOLES Bind of 9 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. Decrease 1 st
each end for next 2 rows and then next 3 alternate rows, leaving 76 sts. Work
in rib pattern until armhole measures 8.5 in.
SHOULDERS Bind of 8 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. Bind of 7 on
following row and knit 12 sts. Turn, bind of 5 sts, and work row. Bind of
remaining 7 sts. Rejoin yarn. Bind of 22 sts (across neck) and work row.
Bind of 7 sts on next row and work row. Bind of 5 sts and work row. Bind
of remaining 7 sts.
FRONTS Cast on 51 sts. Work in rib pattern [left front: RS- (k2,p1),k3
WS- p3,(k1,p2); right front: RS- k3,(p1,k2) WS- (p2,k1),p3] for 17.5 in.
ARMHOLES & NECK Bind of 9 sts arm-side rows. Decrease 1 st neck-side
on the next and following 10 4th rows WHILE ALSO decreasing 1 st arm-side
next 2 rows and then following 3 alternate rows. Work remaining 26* sts
until armhole measures 8.5 in.
SHOULDERS Bind of 8 sts arm-side. Bind of 7 sts arm-side and work row.
Bind of 4 sts neck-side and work row. Bind of remaining 7 sts.
SLEEVES Cast on 56 sts. Work in rib pattern [RS- k2,(p1,k2) WS-
p2,(k1,p2)] for 2.75 inches. Increase 1 st each end next and following 8th
rows until 64 sts. Increase [k2,m1,(rib),m1,k2] 1 st each end following 11th
rows until 84 sts. Work even until sleeve measures 20.5 inches. Bind of 6 sts
beginning of next 2 rows. Decrease 1 st each end next and following 14
alternate rows. Work even for 4 rows. Decrease 1 st each end next and
following 6 rows. Bind of remaining 26 sts.
ASSEMBLY Block pieces. Seam shoulders. Set-in sleeves to body. Seam
body and sleeves.
BUTTON BAND Pick up 344 stitches (roughly 11 sts per 14 rows) and work in
rib [k2,(p1,k2)] three rows. Next row, mark button holes and make with
yo,k2tog. Work in rib 3 more rows and bind of in rib.
