Structure of talk (25) The purpose of the talk is clearly outlined.
The introduction captures the attention of the audience.
The talk is clear, logical and well chunked. NO waffle
The “take home message is clearly identified.
The talk is efficiently concluded.
Content (25) Concepts are presented clearly and accurately.
Information is current and relevant.
The application of concepts / theories / content to the real world is included.
All sources referenced correctly.
The content was pitched at an appropriate level so you could understand the research
Delivery (25) Presentation is a planned conversation and is NOT a reading.
The speaker maintains eye contact with ALL members of the audience.
Clear voice with appropriate volume: all can hear
Mannerisms do not distract the audience from the talk.
Appropriate language is used - jargon is not used or is clearly explained.
Handling questions (5) The speaker maintains control during question time.
Personal (5) Dressed / groomed appropriately.
PowerPoint (15) Colors offer good contrast.
