Get Down With Nature
"The Amateur Naturalist" is an exciting outdoor program for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD students!

The camp will provide quality scientific outdoor experiences such as wildlife sampling, ecology games,
population studies, science experiments, nature art, collections, and scavenger hunts! All activities will
help the student develop an understanding of basic environmental concepts as well as an appreciation
of the natural world. The program gives students opportunities for personal achievement and self-
expression with nature-related activities in the wild.

Here are some of the activities students will participate in:

Nature Jeopardy Building Bird Feeders Wildlife Sampling
Animal Track Casting Nature Scavenger Hunts Making Sound Maps
Plant Collections Geocashing Nature Crafts
Nature Walks Insect Studies Designing & Building-
Rubber Band Rockets Animal Identification Nature Trail Signs
Project WILD Activities Habitat Studies Parent Night Picnic

Registration: Drop off registration form and payment at Blalack Middle School on Tuesday
morning before school begins. Limited spaces available so please call number
below to reserve space.

Designed for students who are $ 100 free and reduced
1600 E. Sandy Lake Road Currently in grades 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

Transportation: Bus transportation will be provided from home schools to


Blalack Middle school (Exploration Academy Site) and then from
Blalack to the Outdoor Learning Center.
