LOGISTICS SUPPORT DEPARTMENT OF SNGPL

PROFILE Administration Department was separated from Personnel Department in 1975 due to increasing manpower and diversifying functions. In 2006, Administration Department was renamed as Logistics Support Department that caters to an establishment of 6926 employees including 803 Executives & 6123 Subordinate Staff. Aim/Role of LS Department Aim of the Department is to create and maintain a disciplined working environment conducive for smooth and streamlined operations of the Company. The department performs the role of facilitator as well as controller both for human resource and logistic support services. The primary interface of the Department is with Company employees. However, owing to the nature of its functions, it also deals with public as well as different kinds of service providers. For both types of inter-actions, the Department emphasizes upon its staff to be courteous, facilitating and cooperative in discharge of their official functions. Timely completion of formalities for provision of remuneration to Company employees in order to have a satisfied and motivated workforce. Provision of quality health services to employees in a cost efficient manner. Arrangement of suitable protocol to visiting Company guests, directors and government functionaries. Hiring of quality premises for establishing Company offices in order to provide a hygienic & productive environment to employees and improve the Company image. Maintenance of transport fleet in a road worthy condition. Ensure proper security of establishments, equipment and most importantly human resource through trained security personnel and state-of-the-art security gadgets. Arrange disposal of inward & outward mail through central registry. Provision of quality uniform, protective clothing and safety shoes to entitled categories of staff. Ensure hygienic environment at office premises through efficient janitorial services and buildings maintenance.

Ensure uninterrupted connectivity to entitled employees through landlines & cellular services in a cost efficient manner. POLICY FRAMEWORK:

Maintenance and operation of fire-fighting system Prepare & execute periodic drill of emergency evacuation plan LEASING OF PREMISES Search for suitable office premises as per requirement Settling terms & conditions and eventual hiring of premises for offices under lease agreements Timely payments of rent & renewal of lease UTILITY SERVICES Payment of utility bills pertaining to:Electricity Telephone Water Coordinate with Cellular Company for provision of mobile phone facility to entitled Executives.
