ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GRADUATION SPEECH Good Evening Honored Guests, Ladies, Gentlemen and of course the Graduating Class
of [insert year]. It seems hard to believe. The year started off at a sprint and it seems to have left many of us still trying to catch our breath. As e loo!ed for ard to all the challenges that lay ahead of us, it did appear a little daunting at times " a huge mountain that lay ahead of us to climb. #ut my, hat a onderful year it has been. A year of challenges met, mountains climbed and summits con$uered% To our young Ladies and Gentlemen seated in front of us tonight listening to our elementary school graduation speech " e are immeasurably proud of each and everyone of you. There ere those of you ho seemed to have ings and you &ust soared over the obstacles and challenges that crossed your path. It is a onderful gift and one that never fails to ama'e me. And although, not everyone may have had ings that sa them soaring over obstacles confronted " each and every one of you had feet " feet that you used to climb, bit by bit every day, one day at a time and yes...you all got there. (ou all achieved your goals% )tep"by"step and day"by"day " your course as steadfast and you never lost sight of your goals. I can only applaud that !ind of determination, that purposeful resolve to get here you need to be " even hen it may not al ays have been very easy. *ell done " you sei'ed onderful opportunities, academic, cultural and sporting and made them your o n. *e are indeed proud% #ut, allo me set another scene+ ,o elementary school graduation speech is complete ithout a story+ The end of recess bell has &ust rung. The Grade [insert highest year o st!"ents]-s are outside a class, aiting for a lesson. Along comes a little Grade [insert #o$est year o st!"ents] chap....shirt un"tuc!ed and soc!s do n after a good game of something that involves running. He sees a )enior Teacher standing ne.t to the class, aiting to lead the class in. /uite undeterred, this young man al!s up to the teacher. The conversation that follo s goes something li!e this0 #oy0 1*ho are those boys+1 Teacher0 1They are )enior #oys.1 The boy loo!ing disappointed, but still hopeful0 12h...I-m loo!ing for a tall )enior #oy 3 little arms e.tended to the left and the right accompany this statement to sho &ust ho tall the boy is4. 5o you !no him+ He said he ould play soccer ith me after school%1 Teacher0 1*ell, do you !no his name+1 #oy0 1,o...but ill yo! find him for me please+ Tell him I-ll ait for him after school to play soccer.1 *ith that, the little chap turns happily on his heel, confident that the teacher ill in fact find the 1tall )enior boy1 and he trots off to his ne.t lesson. The )enior !ids smile and chuc!le good"naturedly at the little guy-s enthusiasm and conviction. 2!, so the teacher never did find the elusive 1tall one1 " but something more important as 1found1. It is gratifying to find that at 6insert name of )chool7 a )enior #oy ill still offer to play soccer ith a younger boy because he remembers loo!ing up to the bigger boys hen he as &ust a little guy. And hat a find it is hen a 8unior #oy ants to play soccer ith the )enior #oys " no fear...&ust a little a e and admiration perhaps+ It is also heart" arming to see the complete trust and belief, as our young friend approached a teacher for help in this rather urgent matter, and more importantly, to see the faith that the little guy had in the simplicity of his re$uest, and the faith that the teacher ould do their best to help him. It is moments li!e these, not only the more tangible academic, sporting and cultural moments that are normally evident " hen e are again reminded of hat ma!es [insert na%e o S&hoo#] so special. The moments are seemingly unimportant, magical and many " but they happen every day at [insert na%e o s&hoo#]. As you face a ne academic year, my advise to you in our elementary school graduation speech is to continue soaring, continue boldly stepping for ard, continue marching to ards the beat of your drum and may the year that lies ahead be as phenomenal as your graduating year at [ insert na%e o S&hoo#]'
