Sprinkler Flow Calculations and Guidelines

The document discusses sprinkler system flow calculations. It calculates the total flow for an area of 139 sqm at a density of 6.1 L/min/sqm to be 847.9 L/min. It then divides the total flow by the number of sprinklers, 14, to get the per sprinkler flow of 60.5 L/min. It also calculates the flow for an area of 10 sqm at the given density to be 61 L/min. The document also specifies that water supplies shall be designed to meet fixed fire protection demands plus 250 gpm for inside and outside hose streams for at least 60 minutes. It notes that if pump pressure is more than 12.1 bar, source pressure

Sprinkler Flow:-

Total flow = Total area x Density

= 139 x 6.1
= 847.9
Per sprinkler flow = Total flow / No sprinkler

= 847.9/14

Flow = A x D
= 10 x 6.1

6.2.3 Duration.
[Link]*Water supplies shall be designed to meet the fixed fire
protection demand plus 250 gpm (946 L/min) for inside and
outside hose streams for at least 60 minutes, unless otherwise
specified in the occupancy standards.
If pump pressure is more than 12.1 bar than source pressure should be as per jockey pump mean 10 psi more than
main pump this rule should follow if you want to take prv input pressure otherwise no need if pump pressure is
below 12.1 bar.
