Traditions highly recommend not to delay performing the magrib prayer & to recite it at its earliest time
Between Adhan and Iqamah, you may say the following
all¡humma inn¢ as'aluka
ﻠﻚ ﻴ ﻝ ﹶﻟ
ﺎ ﹺ ﹺﺑ ﹺﺈ ﹾﻗﺒﺎ ﹸﻟﻚ ﹺﺇﻧﱢﻲ ﺍ ﺳﻬﻢ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠ
O Allah, I beseech You in the name
of the coming of Your night, bi'iqb¡li laylika
the departure of Your daylight, wa idb¡ri nah¡rika ﺎ ﹺﺭﻙﺎ ﹺﺭ ﹶﻧﻬﺩﺑ ﹺﺇﻭ
the presence of Your prayers, wa ¦u¤£ri ¥alaw¡tika ﺗﻚﺍﺻ ﹶﻠﻮ
ﺣﻀﹸﻮ ﹺﺭ ﹶ
ﻭ
the voices of Your supplicants, wa a¥w¡ti du`¡tika ﺗﻚﺎﻋﺕ ﺩ
ﺍﺻﻮ
ﺍ ﹾﻭ
and the glorification of Your angels, wa tasb¢¦i mal¡'ikatika ﺘﻚ ﻜ
ﺋ ﹶﻼ
ﻣ ﹶ ﺢ
ﺴﺒﹺﻴ ﹺ
ﹶﺗﻭ
an tu¥alliya `al¡
ﺪ
ﻤ ﺤ
ﻣ ﻝ
ﺁ ﹺﺪ ﻭ
ﻤ ﺤ
ﻣ ٰﻋ ﹶﻠﻰ ﺼ ﱢﻠﻲ
ﻥ ﹸﺗ ﹶ
ﺍ
to send blessings upon Muhammad
mu¦ammadin wa ¡li
and the Household of Muhammad
mu¦ammadin
and to accept my repentance. wa an tat£ba `alayya ﻋ ﹶﻠﻲ ﻮﺏ ﻥ ﹶﺗ ﹸﺘ
ﺍﻭ
innaka anta alttaww¡bu
ﻴﻢﺣ ﭐﻟﺮﺍﺏﺖ ﭐﻟ ﱠﺘﻮ
ﺍ ﹾﻧ ﹶﹺﺇﱠﻧﻚ
You are verily, the Oft-Returning,
the Most Merciful. alrra¦¢mu
1. Dua after magrib 1
O Allah! I beseech You for the
motives of Your mercy,
all¡humma inn¢ as'aluka
m£jib¡ti ra¦matika ﺘﻚ ﻤ ﺣ
ﺕ ﺭ
ﺎﺟﺒ
ﻮ ﹺ ﻣﺎﹸﻟﻚ ﹺﺇﻧﱢﻲ ﺍﺳﻬﻢ ﺍﹶﻟ ﱠﻠ
the determining causes of Your
forgiveness, wa `az¡'ima maghfiratika ﺗﻚﻔﺮ ﻣ ﹾﻐ ﻢ
ﺋ ﹺﻋﺰﹶﺍ ﻭ
deliverance from Hellfire walnnajata mina alnn¡ri ﭐﻟﻨﱠﺎ ﹺﺭﻣﻦ ﺎ ﹶﺓﭐﻟ ﱠﻨﺠﻭ
and all misfortunes, wa min kulli baliyyatin ﺔﻠﻴ ﻞ ﹺﺑ
ﻦ ﹸﻛ ﱢ
ﻣ ﻭ
winning Paradise, walfawza biljannati ﺔ ﺠ ﱠﻨ
ﻮ ﹶﺯ ﺑﹺﭑﹾﻟ ﭐﹾﻟ ﹶﻔﻭ
Divine Contentment in the Abode
of Peace, walrri¤w¡ni f¢ d¡ri alssal¡mi ﻼ ﹺﻡ
ﺴﹶ
ﺍ ﹺﺭ ﭐﻟﻥ ﻓﻲ ﺩ
ﺍﺿﻮ
ﹾﭐﻟﺮﻭ
and the vicinity of Your Prophet wa jiw¡ri nabiyyika
Mu¦ammad—peace be upon him mu¦ammadin `alayhi wa ﻼﻡ
ﺴﹶ
ﻪ ﭐﻟ ﻟﺁﻪ ﻭ ﻴ ﻋ ﹶﻠ ﺪﺤﻤ
ﻣ ﻴﻚ ﺍ ﹺﺭ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒﺟﻮ
ﻭ
and his Household. ¡lih¢ alssal¡mu
O Allah, You are certainly the
source of each and every favor all¡humma m¡ bin¡ min
ni`matin faminka
ﻤ ﹾﻨﻚ ﺔ ﹶﻓﻌﻤ ﻦ ﹺﻧ
ﻣ ﺎ ﹺﺑﻨﹶﺎ ﻣﻬﻢ ﺍﹶﻟ ﱠﻠ
that covers us.
There is no god save You. l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ﺖ
ﻻ ﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ
ﹺﺇ ﱠﻻ ﹺﺇ ٰﻟﻪ
ﹶ
I pray Your forgiveness and I
repent before You.
astaghfiruka wa at£bu
ilayka ﻴﻚ ﹺﺇﹶﻟ ﺍﺗﹸﻮﺏ ﻭﻙﻔﺮ ﺳ ﹶﺘ ﹾﻐ
ﺍ
2. Imam Moosa alKazim (a.s) narrates that, without talking to anyone, say the followin g 7 times (100 times as per some narration):
In the Name of Allah; the All-
beneficent, the [Link] is Bismillahir Rahmaan ir Raheem la ﻢ
ﻴ ﹺﺣﻦ ﭐﻟﺮ
ﺣ ٰﻤ ﹺ
ﻪ ﭐﻟﺮ ﻢ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ
ﺴﹺ ﹺﺑ
haula wa la quwwata illa billahil ali il
neither might nor power except with
Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
azeem ﻢ
ﻴ ﹺﻌﻈ ﭐﹾﻟﻠﻲ ﻌ ﻪ ﭐﹾﻟ ﻻ ﺑﹺﭑﻟ ﱠﻠ
ﹶﺓ ﹺﺇ ﱠﹶﻻ ﹸﻗﻮ
ﹶﻝ ﻭ
ﹶﺣﻮ
ﻻ
ﹶﻭ
Recite 3 times:
All praise be to Allah Who al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ yaf`alu
does whatever He
m¡ yash¡'u ﻳﺸﹶﺎ ُﺀ ﺎﻞ ﻣ
ﻌ ﹸ ﻳ ﹾﻔ ﻪ ﭐﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﻟ ﱠﻠ ﻤﺪ ﺤ
ﹶﺍﹾﻟ
wills/desires,
and none else can ever do
whatever one desires save wa l¡ yaf`alu m¡ yash¡'u
ghayruh£
ﻩﻴﺮ ﻳﺸﹶﺎ ُﺀ ﹶﻏ ﺎﻞ ﻣ
ﻌ ﹸ ﻳ ﹾﻔ ﻻ
ﹶﻭ
Him.
Then, say the following prayer:
All glory be to You. There is no
god save You.
sub¦¡naka l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ﺖ
ﻻ ﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ
ﹺﺇ ﱠﻻ ﹺﺇ ٰﻟﻪ
ﹶﺎﹶﻧﻚﺒﺤ ﺳ
Forgive my sins all in all, ighfir l¢ dhun£b¢ kullah¡ jam¢`an ﻴﻌ ﹰﺎﺟﻤ
ﺎﻲ ﹸﺫﻧﹸﻮﺑﹺﻲ ﹸﻛ ﱠﻠﻬﺮ ﻟ ﻔ ﹺﺇ ﹾﻏ
fa'innah£ l¡ yaghfiru
for none can forgive all sins
save You.
aldhdhun£ba kullah¡ jam¢`an ﺖ
ﻻ ﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ
ﻴﻌ ﹰﺎ ﹺﺇ ﱠﺟﻤ
ﺎ ﹸﻛ ﱠﻠﻬﺬﻧﹸﻮﺏ
ﭐﻟ ﱡﻔﺮ ﻳ ﹾﻐ ﻻ
ﹶﹶﻓﺈﹺﱠﻧﻪ

3. It is narrated from Ameer al Momineen (a.s.) that anyone who recites the following verse three times at the
time of Maghrib prayer, till the next morning he will not suffer any loss and he will be safe from natural calamities: 30:17/18
ﻮﻥﻤﺴ ﹸﺗﻴﻦﻪ ﺣ ﺍﻟﻠﱠـﺎﻥﺒﺤ ﺴ
ﹶﻓ
Fasubhana Allahi heena
Therefore glory be to Allah when you tumsoona waheena
enter upon the time of the evening and
ﻮﻥﺼ ﹺﺒﺤ
ﹸﺗ ﹾﻴﻦﺣﻭ
tusbihoona Walahu alhamdu
when you enter upon the time of the
morning. fee alssamawati waalardi
waAAashiyyan waheena
ﺽ
ﺭ ﹺ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺄﺕ ﻭ
ﺍﺎﻭﺴﻤ
ﻲ ﺍﻟ ﻓﻤﺪ ﺤ
ﺍﹾﻟﹶﻟﻪﻭ
And to Him belongs praise in the tuzhiroona
heavens and the earth, and at nightfall
and when you are at midday.
ﻭﻥﻈ ﹺﻬﺮ
ﹸﺗ ﹾﻴﻦﺣﺎ ﻭﺸﻴ
ﻋ ﻭ
4. Recite :
“Surely, Allah and His angels
bless the Prophet.
inna all¡ha wa mal¡'ikatah£
yu¥all£na `al¡alnnabiyyi
ﻋ ﹶﻠﻰٰ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻨ ﹺﺒﻲ ﺼﻠﱡﻮﻥ
ﻳ ﹶ ﻜ ﹶﺘﻪ
ﺋ ﹶﻼ
ﻣ ﹶ ﻭ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠﻪ﴿ﹺﺇﻥ
O you who believe! Call for
Divine blessings on him and y¡ ayyuh¡ alladh¢na ¡man£ ﻮﭐﺳ ﱢﻠﻤ
ﻪ ﻭ ﻴ ﻋ ﹶﻠ ﺻﻠﱡﻮﭐ
ﻣﻨﹸﻮﭐ ﹶ ﺁﺎ ﭐﻟﱠﺬﻳﻦﻳﻬ
ﺎ ﺍﻳ
salute him with a becoming ¥all£ `alayhi wa sallim£
salutation.” tasl¢man ﴾ﻠﻴﻤﺎﹰﹶﺗﺴ
all¡humma ¥alli
O Allah, send blessings to
Mu¦ammad the Prophet, `al¡ mu¦ammadin alnnabiyyi ﺪ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻨ ﹺﺒﻲﺤﻤ
ﻣ ٰﻋ ﹶﻠﻰ ﻞ
ﺻ ﱢ
ﹶﻬﻢ ﺍﹶﻟ ﱠﻠ
upon his offspring, wa `al¡ dhurriyyatih¢ ﻪ ﺘ ﻳﻋ ﹶﻠﻰٰ ﹸﺫﺭ ﻭ
and upon his Household. wa `al¡ ahli baytih¢ ﻪ ﺘ ﻴ ﺑ ﻞ
ﻫ ﹺ
ﻋ ﹶﻠﻰٰ ﺍ ﻭ
5 .Recite ALLAAHUMMA AJIRNA MINAN NAARI SAALIMEENA WA ADKHILNAL JANNATA BISALAAMIN AAMINEENA WA
TAWAFFANAA MUSLIMEENA WA ALH’IQNAA BIS’ S’AALIH’EENA WA S’ALLALLHU A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE
AJMA-E’ENA BIFAZ”LIKA WA RAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN -"O Allah help us to depart from life of
this world in safety and save us from fire and make us enter Paradise with peace and safety. And make us die in
Thy submission and include us with the righteous, I beseech You by Thy grace and mercy on us, Oh Most Merciful
of the Merciful! ".
[Link] recite:“Oh Allah! Who transforms hearts and eyes, steadfast in Thy religion. And deviate not my heart
after Thou hast guided me aright and bless me from Thy mercy. Surely Thou art the Most generous Giver, and by
Thy mercy protect me from the fire. Oh Allah! extend the span of my life and increase my subsistence and spread
Thy mercy on me; and, if in Thy Knowledge, there is anything unhappy for me in the guarded tablets change it
into happiness, for surely Thou changeth what Thou pleaseth and inscribe what Thou pleaseth; and the guarded
Tablet belongs Thee alone”.
7 Recite 100 times or 10 times LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH [There is no god save Allah.]
8. Recite Surah al Waaqi-a'h.
[Link] Ghufaylah Salat between Magrib & Isha ( this can be a part ie 1X2 of Magrib Nafilah)
10. Recite 4 Rak'ats Nafilah (2X2) for Maghrib four units of prayer, each two separated by a Tasl¢m statement. You
should not utter any word between the two parts of the prayer.
Y ou may then do the Thanksgiving prostration & recite

Al-Kulayni has reported Imam alSadiq (`a) as saying: When you finish the nafila sunset prayer, you may pass your hand over your
forehead and repeat the following times:
In the Name of Allah save Whom
there is no god,
bismill¡hi alladh¢ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ huwa ﻫﻮ ﻻ
ﹺﺇ ﱠﹶﻻ ﹺﺇ ٰﻟﻪ
ﻱ ﹶﻪ ﭐﱠﻟﺬ ﻢ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ
ﺴﹺ ﹺﺑ
the Knower of the unseen and the
seen,
`¡limu alghaybi walshshah¡dati ﺓ ﺎﺩﺸﻬ
ﭐﻟ ﱠﺐ ﻭ
ﻴ ﹺ ﭐﹾﻟ ﹶﻐﻟﻢﺎﻋ
the All-beneficent, and the All-
merciful.
alrra¦m¡nu alrra¦¢mu ﻴﻢﺣ ﭐﻟﺮﺣ ٰﻤﻦ
ﭐﻟﺮ
O Allah, (please) take away from me all¡humma adhhib `anniya alhamma
grief and distress. wal¦azana ﺤ ﹶﺰﻥ
ﭐﹾﻟ ﻭﻬﻢ ﭐﹾﻟﻋ ﱢﻨﻲ ﺐ
ﻫ ﹾﺫ
ﺍﻬﻢ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠ
