COURSE DESCRIPTION
This two-day workshop aims to enhance the competencies of managers and leaders in setting the organization’s strategic directions,
aligning their unit-level operational plans with the strategic plan, and managing change. Likewise, it provides guidance, tools and
techniques in replicating specific processes and sustaining productive interaction among critical stakeholders and process owners
aimed at institutionalising a procedure for planning that can be periodically undertaken and improved.
Performance Objectives:
By the end of the 2-day workshop, the participants shall be able to logically facilitate the strategic planning process in their respective
organizations building up to the strategic plan.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to:
1. Select and mobilize the members of the Planning Team and prepare the Action Plan for the Strategic Planning process
2. Convey the long-term direction, define the purpose and reason for existence of the organization and define what the
organization believes in and how the organization relates with its stakeholders.
3. Operationalize the Vision-Mission statements and illustrate how the organization creates value by connecting the strategic
objectives in a cause and effect relationship.
4. Build the organizational scorecard comprised of the Strategic Objectives, Key Performance Indicators and Targets.
5. Develop the communications plan as a key change management tool.

Course Description
Great managers have excellent HR strategies and processes in maximizing the potentials of people in the organization —
a vital element in enhancing organization’s performance. The course highlights the role of managers as a strategic
instrument in ensuring well-trained, well-developed, well-appreciated, and well-managed human resources. It will guide
managers in drafting a Capacity Building Plan for their office/division and assist in its effective implementation.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, the participants shall be able to:
1. Define the importance and pre-requisites of a Capacity Building Plan
2. Conduct a self-assessment of their organization’s maturity (system and practices) and proficiency (competencies)
levels in Learning & Development using the PRIME HRM standard
3. Identify the role of the manager and other stakeholders in developing and implementing an HRD Plan
4. Discuss different Capacity Building and Learning and Development Concepts
5. Discuss various learning and development methodologies and activities
6. Conceptualize and draft a Capacity Building Plan for his/her office or work unit, in the case of division chiefs
7. Draft a communication plan to inform stakeholders about the Learning and Development (L&D) plan and its
implementation
