Continuous Beam Design Analysis

This document summarizes the design of a continuous beam labeled B3. The beam has two spans of 4.2m and 2m, and is subjected to dead and live loads. Based on a moment distribution analysis, the maximum positive moment is 90 kn-m in the first span and the maximum negative moment is 130 kn-m in the second span. The design of the beam is then shown to meet code requirements for the reinforcement needed for flexure and shear. 8mm diameter stirrups spaced at 200mm are designed to resist the shear force of 117.4 kn.
