our lesson ends today.
D. PRESENTATION
Now that you already know our topic
for today lets discuss the history of
origami.
The Japanese word origami is a
combination of two words in Japanese:
“ori” which means “to fold” and
“kami” means “paper”. It is believe that
Japanese origami began in 6th century
and because of the high costs of paper,
origami was only use for religious
ceremonial purposes.

Let’s proceed to types of origami and
paper folding.
Types of Origami
•Action Origami can move in clever
ways, also known as moving origami.
•Modukar Origami, putting a number of
identical pieces together.
•Wet folding Origami, technique for
producing models with gentle curves.
•Pureland Origami, origami adds
restrictions that only simple valley
folds may be used.
•Origami tessellations, collection of
figures filling a plane with no gaps or
over laps.
•Kirigami, japanese term of paper
cutting.
Types of paper foldings in origami
• Valley mountain folds
• Pleats folds
• Reverse fold (outside, and Inside)
• Squash folds
• Sinks folds

I will ask you to make your own
version of a paper airplane. It’s up to
you how you are going to make it. This
is not just a simple activity class, okay.
After making your own version of a
paper airplane, I will let you fly that
plane and the farther the plane landed
the greater the points.
