PURPOSE – Why am I teaching this lesson? What do I want the students to know/to be able to do by the end of the
lesson that they could not do before?

 this lesson purpose is to teach students names of the basic shapes and identify them. At the end
of my lesson the students will be able to tell me the name of the shapes circles, squares, triangles,
and rectangles and sort them

LANGUAGE – What is the language I hope to teach? Specifically – what do I want the students to be able to say or write
or read or listen to? Is it new language, or am I revising something I or my MST has already presented and practiced, or
is it a mixture? Do I understand the language myself, or do I need to research it more?

 I will teach them simple English language I

want them to be able to write and say and
recognize letter “A”.
 It is not a new language they have took it
before, but I will
do more speaking and listening activity
about this letter.
 I do understand this language by myself and
I don’t need any more research about it.

SKILLS – Which skill(s) am I teaching and what aspect of that / those skill(s) will I focus on?

 I will focus in speaking and listening and

thinking skills, I want then to relate the letter
with a real-life case
I want the students to communicate and talk
With me more rather than just learn new
thing without understanding or without
developing any skills
CONTEXT – How will I make the language realistic for the students?

 I will ask them to show me where can we find letter A in the classroom or in their daily life basis.
“food, places, names.etc” It is going to be like a brainstorming for them.

1
RESOURCES –– What resources do I need to create the context and provide practice, so the students can do what they
need to do to develop? - Include realia, books, handouts, multimedia, songs, games, etc.

 pictures with letter a

 coloured pens
 play dough
 glue
 scissors
 cue tip
 letter A A3 paper
 computer
 markers

ACTIVITIES – What activities can I design that use the resources and are appropriate in the context? Are my activities
authentic and purposeful?

3) i will also print out the same pictures but in a

smaller size, then I will ask them to cut and stick
them in a A3 paper. ‘(small group)
1) letter A video: I will show them a video about letter
A, I will be for the whole class 4) in a small group I will help the students to build up
a letter A using the cue tips and glue.
2) pictures contain letter A: I will ask the students to
tell me what do they see, then show me where is 5) in another group I will put an A4 paper with lower

the letter A in the words.(large group) and uppercase of letter A and the students will
form them using the play dough.

SELF REFLECTION

What went well? Why do I think it went well?

If I gave the lesson again, what would I change and why?

How was my classroom management?

What did the children learn?

How do I know this?

(Remember: THE IMPORTANT THING IS NOT THE LESSON; IT IS HOW MUCH YOU ARE LEARNING / WHAT YOU
UNDERSTAND ABOUT YOUR TEACHING / THE WAY STUDENTS LEARN. the more detailed your comments are, the higher
your grade will be) A very good lesson but a weak / incomplete / over-general reflection will mean a lower grade for the reflection.
However, a (very) good / not so good lesson and a very detailed / very complete / very specific reflection about it will mean a
higher grade for the reflection.

instructions you intend to give) you expect them to use)
