SPEECH

Preliminary Round I (Prepared Speech)

 Prepare a speech based on the theme “Broaden Your Horizon”


 No note papers are allowed
 Preparation time: 3 minutes
 Performing time: 5 minutes

Preliminary Round II (Extemporaneous Speech)

 There will be 3 questions.


 Pick one and prepare a speech with it.
 Participants will have to prepare a full speech with opening, body, and closing.
 No note papers are allowed.
 Preparation time: 15 minutes
 Performing time: 5 minutes

Quarter Final (Table Topics)

 Topic given on each participant’s turn.


 No quarantine room.
 No note papers allowed.
 Preparation time: 30 seconds
 Performing time: 2 minutes

Semi Final (Humorous Speech)

 Choose any kind of humorous topics.


 Required to bring a speech that consists of an opening, body and closing.
 No note papers allowed.
 Preparation time: 5 minutes
 Performing time: 7 minutes

Final (Inspiring Speech)

 The topic is given a day before.


 Bring the speech that is able to inspire the audience.
 No note papers allowed.
 Preparation time: 5 minutes
 Performing time: 7 minutes

STORYTELLING

Preliminary Round I (Prepared Story)

 Tell a folklore based on their origin country.


 Properties and costumes are allowed.
 Not allowed to bring any script to the performing room.
 Preparation times: 4 minutes
 Performing times: 6 minutes

Preliminary Round II (Tall Tales)

 Tell a story based on the plot story given in preparation room.


 Required to exaggerate the story, but is still relevant to the story.
 There will be a plot twist given by the judge.
 There will be a bell rung by the Liaison Officer.
 Preparation times: 15 minutes
 Performing times: 7 minutes

Quarter Final (Tag Team)

 You will team up into a group of 4 people randomly.


 Tell a story consecutively.
 Participants have 30 seconds to continue the story before passing it to other
teammate.
 Input a conjunction word before passing it to the opponent.
 The last participants will have 30 seconds to conclude the story.
 Every participants have 6 turns to continue the story.
 Preparation times: 5 minutes
 Performing times: 12 minutes

Semi Final (Slides and Sounds)

 Tell a story based on the slides and sounds given in the performing room.
 Participants are given 30 seconds for every slides and sounds.
 All slides and sounds given must be included in your story and correlate with
each other.
 Empty (white) slide means that you have 30 seconds to conclude your story.
 Preparation times: 5 minutes
 Performing times: 6 minutes

Final (Duel)

 Duel begins with a short story read by the judges.


 Each participants has 30 seconds to continue the story.
 Input a conjunction word before passing it to the opponent.
 There will be some twist given by the judge in the middle of the story.
 Preparation times: 5 minutes
 Performing times: 12 minutes

Semi Final Rounds

 4 people
 3 Rounds for each team
 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 (TOP)

Final Rounds

 2 people
 5 Rounds for each team
 1 vs 2 (TOP)

NEWSCASTING

Preliminary Round I (Live Report)

 Briefing for the live report will be given at the Preparation Room.
 One interviewee will be provided during the performance.
 Create a live report.
 Scripts are not allowed to be brought in.
 Preparation Time: 6 minutes
 Performing Time: 3 minutes
Preliminary Round II (News Reading)

 2 articles (hard news and soft news) will be given during Preparation Room.
 Participants must re-compose the article into a presentable material.
 Scripts are allowed to be brought in.
 Preparation Time: 5 minutes
 Performing Time: 3 minutes

Quarter Final (News Report: Tag Team)

 Performs in pairs with other participants.


 2 articles will be given at the Preparation Room.
 Re-compose the article.
 Scripts are allowed to be brought in.
 Preparation time: 10 minutes
 Performing time: 5 minutes

Semi Final (Talk Show)

 There will be a special guest as an interviewee.


 CV and Resume will be given at the Preparation Room.
 Create a talk show based on the CV and Resume.
 Scripts are allowed to be brought in.
 Preparation time: 10 minutes
 Performing time : 8 minutes

Final (News Reading + Interview)

 Article and details about the guest will be given at the preparation room.
 Interview will be done after news reading.
 Scripts are allowed to be brought in.
 Preparation time: 10 minutes.
 Performing time: 7 minutes.

SPELLING BEE

Preliminary Round I

 Written Test
 Pronouncer pronounces a word.
 Participants write down the words on a paper.
 The pronouncer will only pronounce twice, no repeating the words after that.
 There will be 40 words in total.
 Performing time: 30 minutes

Spelling Test (Individual)

 The participants will have to spell out the words that pronouncer has spoken.
 The pronouncer will only pronounce 2 times, participants are allowed to
request re-stating words to the pronouncer.
 There will be 10 words
 Preparation time: 4 minutes
 Performing time: 5 minutes

Find & Cross

 The participants will be given a paper with words, and will have to find and
cross the words that is defined in the paper.
 There will be 50 words
 Performing time: 30 minutes

Preliminary Round II (Point Seeker)

 There will be 10 post of games to play, where participants can win and earn
the points. Participants will be divided into groups.

Quarter Final (Gamble Time)

 Each participant will be given 2500 points and they must use the point to bid.
 Minimal bid: 100 points. Maximum bid: 500 points.
 There will be 25 words, pronouncer will speak a definition of the word, then
the word itself.
 After that, participant has 10s to think and they must write their bidding points
along with his/her name on the small paper. (LO will collect the papers).
 Performing time: 60 minutes

Semi Final (Words Attack)

 Committee will provide 60 words to be spelled.


 In the performing room, the participants need to spell as many words as
possible within the time limit.
 Participant can decide whether to pass or answer the words pronounced by
the committee.
 Preparation time: 10 minutes
 Performing time: 15 minutes
Final (Last Man Standing)

 In the final round, each participants will have 3 lifes.


 The participant will be given words by the pronouncer based on the order.
 If the participant failed to answer within 30 seconds, they will be deducted 1
life.
 Participants are allowed to request for re-stating words (Timer will freeze if re-
stating is requested).
 Preparation time: 20 minutes
 Performing time: Till last man standing
