STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
With recent advancement in the hospitality sector, it is the largest service industry globally in terms of
gross revenue and foreign exchange earnings. Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest-growing
industries, whose great variety makes it very interesting area of working. Hospitality is distinctive
business activity and has a critical role in global economy leading to create employment worldwide. It
also performs major role in satisfying guest requirement in one or the other way. The hospitality industry
is continuously booming thus providing a scope of continuous growth and learning through practical
experience depending on my capabilities.
I have developed an interest to pursue my higher education in hospitality due to the growing opportunities
in the field of hospitality and tourism and also due to my interest in the subject matter. My intense focus in
my field of study has rendered me with a strong foundation of concept and the capacity to build on them. I
tend to assimilate new learning material with ease, this will help me to meet the rigorous academic
challenges the new curriculum will pose. I am a detail oriented person. The interplay of ideas would be
illuminating and thought provoking and the contacts that I establish during the studentship would be an
asset to me in my future. I approach my studies with enthusiasm, flexibility, open mindedness and a desire
to learn.
The reason for choosing PIHMS is that it is one of the most respected institutes in New Zealand for

Plymouth. PIHMS provides a specialized course in Hospitality Management carrying several educational

Level 7 Diploma would provide me with a structured insight into the theoretical and practical dimensions
of hospitality sector and changing external environment in which they operate. Hospitality Management
would also provide me with industry relevant experience in the field which would be beneficial for me in
the future. PG Diploma in Hospitality Management would equip me with industry relevant experience
due to the course structure which encourages individual research as a part of assessment. I believe
applying theoretical knowledge into practice would further improve my managerial skills which would
help me in the future job prospects in global marketplace. I am fully aware of the commitment and
perseverance required for the course and I believe that my aptitude and motivation will see me through
the challenge. I am also confident that if given an opportunity, I can contribute to the program in a
