1.0 OBJECTIVE
To carry out plaster ceiling work efficient and achieve standard quality.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK


The plaster ceiling is applicable from ground floor to sixth floor and relevant area
required.

3.0 QA/QC EVALUATION

3.1 Machinery / Equipment Control


Not applicable

4.0 APPLICATION METHOD

4.1 Ensure that everything to be concealed by the plaster board has been accomplished

4.2 The access panels, openings, supplementary framing and blocking and similar
provision have been completed.

4.3 Vertically aligned ceiling batten are anchored to the structural framing or concrete
soffit at 1200mm max. Centres in each direction.

4.4 Attach ceiling battens horizontally to vertical member.

4.5 Attach another ceiling batten horizontally @ 450mm centres for plaster board fixing
and adjust the rails to a level plane.

4.6 Installation of plaster ceiling board to be carried out by experienced and competent
tradesmen with reference to the drawing.

4.7 Attach plaster boards to framing and blocking as required for additional supports at
openings and cut-outs.

4.8 Using 25mm screws and space fasteners in plaster boards in accordance with
referenced standard and manufacturer’s recommendations.

4.9 To produce flush joints in the ceiling boards to obtain at seamless surface, using
perforated paper tape and apply a stopping / bonding compound in the joints from the
face side

4.10 The joint is then trowelled with stopping compound to leave a flush surface in true
relationship to the adjacent surface.

5.0 PROTECTION

5.1 Plaster boards shall be correctly stored and kept dry all the time to avoid deterioration.

6.0 HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIROMENTAL EVALUATION

6.1 Safety

6.1.1 Safety helmets and safety footwear should always be worn.


6.1.2 Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes.
6.1.3 In the case of contact with the skin or eyes, wash or rinse immediately with
plenty of water and seek for medical advice.
