Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

Passing the Praxis Core Exam is essential for individuals who prepare to be a

teacher. It’s a part of the states’ teacher licensing process.

The passing score for the Praxis Core Exam for educators in Nevada is 156 for

reading, 162 for writing, and 150 for Mathematics.

Exam Preparation

To be honest, I did not prepare for this exam and I did not practice either. I only

read the information about the Praxis Core Exam and took a quick look at Praxis prep

websites. But I think it’s necessary to read some helpful sources and do the practice

questions from ETS before taking the exam.

Exam Results

In Math, the average of my score was 74%, which shows my score is close to the

borderline.

In Writing, the average of my score was 53%, which means I need improvement

in this section.

In Reading, the average of my score was 38%, which means I need improvement

in this section as well.

Future Exam Preparation

I think for passing the exam in the future, I need to be more prepared. I might

borrow or purchase a study book to work through. I prefer to read a paper book rather

than an online version. And I think I need to take a lot of practice exams before taking the

actual Praxis Core Exam.
