What is lead generation?
Some definitions are:
-In either inbound or outbound teleservices, the process of gathering information from a prospect or
customer in order to qualify and score the opportunity for future follow-up. Subsequent follow-ups may
be conducted via face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, mail or other method.
- is a marketing term that refers to the creation or generation of prospective consumer interest or inquiry
into a business' products or services. Often lead generation is associated with marketing activity targeted
at generating sales opportunities for a company's sales force. Therefore a lead is correctly described as
information regarding or provided by a consumer that may be interested in making a purchase. Whereas,
generation is one of a myriad of activities that may produce that information and perceived interest.
What type of Project is this?
It’s a lead generation project. Lead generation is not exactly selling but generating contacts and leads for
partner companies.
Who do we call?
We call parents who are expecting a baby or recently had a baby and are interested in receiving free
samples, coupons and offers from about 35 of the major manufacturers of baby products in the U.S.
How do we get their information?
They visit our website [Link] themselves or a family member or a friend registers them
to receive free stuff. We have from 7 to 10 thousand people registering everyday.
What does the job entail?
We call them back to verify their information and go over some offers we have related to the baby, the
family, the stage they are going through, and in some cases, not directly related to the baby.
How many offers do we offer them?
We go over between 20-35 different offers with the parents.
How do we call them?
You will have an application in your computer and call will come in automatically through an automatic
dialer. It’s called ¨predictive dialing¨. You will have a USB headset connected to your PC and call will
come in through the Internet.
Do I have to pay long distance or does that affect my phone bill?
NO
How many offers should we try to present?
All the offers the person qualifies for.
What should I do if the person says NO to an offer?
You present a rebuttal to try to get the yes. You will have some in the system and you will also be able
to create your own.
Can I change the order, present the offers I want or word them my own way?
No, you must adhere to the script, present all the offers the person qualifies for present them as they are
in the system.
Is there a handling time?
No there is not, however you must manage your time wisely. Handling a call usually last about 10-15
minutes.
How many contacts per hour do we get?
Usually between 2.5 and 4. We also get some wrong numbers, some call laters as well as answering
machines.
Do the offers change or are they always the same?
The offers could change. We have offers that come and go and also new offers are uploaded every so
often.
Do we call the whole US?
Yes.
Do I have goals to meet?
Yes, even though we pay per hour there are requirements you are expected to meet. The offers are worth
Points. When you present an offer and the person says YES you get the points for that offer. At the end
of the day, we’ll add all the point and divide them by the hours worked and come up with a POINT PER
HOUR AVERAGE.
Are all the offers worth the same amount of points?
NO. Each offer is worth a different amount of points and how many each one is worth is not divulged.
The reason is that it would be human nature to try to focus on the ones that are worth more points and
probably neglect the ones that are not.
What is the Point per Hour Requirement?
1200 Point per hour weekly average. We look at the weekly average more than the daily average as one
day could average out with the previous one and so forth.

We have a group that you will be part of once you start working. The stats are posted everyday in the
group so you get an email showing a complete breakdown of your stats including, hours, contacts, points
per call, point per hour average, etc.
If I don’t maintain the weekly average, do I still get paid per hour?
YES. We have an hourly wage and also bonuses based on your performance.
If I don’t maintain the weekly average in a particular week, do I get terminated?
It’s not that you will be dismissed just because you didn’t meet the quota in a particular week.
We have a team of experts to help you build your performance and get you to the level that we need you.
However, just like in any other setting, you need to have initiatives, be proactive and reach out for help
if you are underperforming.
What type of support system do you have to help me improve?
