Lesson Plan: Science Grade 10
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. identify the different regions of an electromagnetic spectrum;
b. compare the relative wavelengths of different forms of electromagnetic
waves; and
c. cite examples of practical applications of the different regions of EM
waves.
II. Subject Matter
A. Topic: Electromagnetic Spectrum

Classroom Management
B. Motivation
The students will be asked to illustrate or draw a rainbow using a
long bond paper and art materials.
The students will present their outputs to the class.
C. Analysis
The students will be asked the following questions:
1. What are the colors of the rainbow?
2. Why are there different colors?
3. Which color is the most visible?
4. How is possible for a rainbow to exist?
5. Do rainbows occur after every rain?
The students will give varied answers.
D. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the definition of electromagnetic spectrum.
The teacher will ask the students examples of electromagnetic
spectrum.
The teacher will give a lecturette about wavelengths and how they
are related to electromagnetic spectrums using a PowerPoint
presentation.
E. Application
The students will be asked to do the following task:
1. In a one ½ sheet of paper, write down examples of
electromagnetic waves and their corresponding
wavelengths.
IV. Evaluation
In a ½ sheet of paper the students will be asked to answer the
following questions:
1. What is an electromagnetic spectrum?
2. What are the different regions of an electromagnetic spectrum?
3. What are the different applications of EM waves at home?
V. Agreement/ Assignment
The students will be asked to research about the following and
write it down in their assignment notebooks:
a. Light
b. Reflection of light in mirrors
c. Refraction of light in lenses
