Language Therapy
1 Interactive Book with
Mini Take-Home Booklet
Christmas Vocabulary Interactive Book
Interactive books are designed to allow students to match pictures to each page of the book
using velcro. These books are ideal for early childhood education because they provide fine motor
practice while addressing language skills. The books also have a very clear ending. Children can see if
they complete each page in the booklet, they are finished with the activity. A variety of language goals
(verbs, pronouns, functions, attributes, etc.) can be addressed with use of these interactive books.
One page will be your base at the back of the book. Do not cut the last page of the interactive
book as it is your base page. Cut all of the other pages in half. Hole punch the pages and place them
on the top of the left side of your base page. Use the 12 picture cards on page 9 as your interactive
pieces. Laminate all pages, and add velcro to all interactive parts of the book.
As you read each page of the book, ask your student to find the correct interactive piece and
attach it. Use the print-and-go mini booklets at the end of each interactive book as take-home practice
to promote carryover of the skills addressed during therapy.
Mini Book Folding Directions:
1.) Fold paper into 8 rectangles.
2.) Cut through central panels or cut as
shown in image.
3.) Fold paper horizontally.
4.) Push the left and right side of the paper
together until you’ve formed an “x.”
5.) Fold around any two sections to make the
origami book.
After trimming the sheet around the outer
dotted lines, the only cut made is along the
line shown in red to the right!
