Low Hydrogen Covered Electrodes Guide

OK 48.00 is a low hydrogen electrode for shielded metal arc welding of carbon steels and carbon manganese steels. It deposits a tough, crack-resistant weld metal suitable for welding structures subjected to difficult stress conditions. OK 48.00 has good welding characteristics, including high welding speed in the vertical-up position and insensitivity to variations in the base material composition. Typical mechanical properties of the weld metal include a yield strength of 475 MPa, tensile strength of 565 MPa, and 29% elongation when welded.

COVERED (STICK) ELECTRODES (SMAW)

LOW HYDROGEN ELECTRODES

OK 48.00

A reliable, general purpose electrode for manual metal arc welding of carbon steels, carbon manganese steels and fine-grained carbon manganese steels with
elevated yield strength. OK 48.00 deposits a tough, crack-resistant weld metal. The coating is of the low moisture absorption type. High welding speed in the
vertical-up position. OK 48.00 is insensitive to the composition of the base material within fairly wide limits. The electrode can be used for welding structures where
difficult stress conditions cannot be avoided.
