PT INTER WORLD STEEL MILLS
W W W. I W S T E E L . C O M
THE
Inter World Steel Mills Indonesia was established more than forty years ago as a
steel rolling company producing Indonesia's first strip plates.
FACTORY
The first factory is situated in North Jakarta, occupying 46,000 sqm of land.
In 1975, a second rolling mill line was built to produce Indonesia's first angle bars.
In 1982, Inter World Steel Mills Indonesia again pioneered the Indonesia steel
industry when it commenced production of channel bars.
BRIEF HISTORY In 1990, the company acquired 150,000 sqm of land in Tangerang and built a new
25MTelectric-arc furnace designed by NKK Japan and its Continuous Casting
Machine by Danieli, Italy.
The new plant started production in 1992 with an annual billet production capacity
of 150,000MT. In 1994 a new rolling mill from Danieli, Italy was added to the
Tangerang plant to accommodate production of plain and deformed reinforcing
bars with annual capacity of 250,000 MT.
The plant commenced production in 1995. In 2001, the 25MT electric-arc furnace
was upgraded to 30MT and was able to produce 200,000MT of steel billets per
annum. In end of 2012, the company successfully completed installation of a new
line to produce reinforcing bars with a production capacity of 600,000MT. In 2013,
the company purchased additional 22,500 sqm of land adjacent to its Tangerang
facility. Currently Inter World Steel Mills Indonesia has an annual production
capacity of 800,000 MT per year.
