Fun and Easy Foam Glider

Intro: Fun and Easy Foam Glider
Are you tired of the store bought gliders that don't fly? This little glider is the answer. It can fly for over 15 seconds with a good throw!

Step 1: Gather your supplies.


1. glue gun

2. skewer

3. hobby knife

4. clay

5. permanent marker

6. foam plate

Step 2: Draw the wings and tail pieces on the plate


The wings are 6" long and 4" wide.

The stabilizer 3" long and 1" wide.

The rudder is 1-1/2 by 1" wide.

Step 3: Cut out the pieces.

Step 4: Add a dihedral.


Score the foam with the knife and bend both sides to a 15 degree angle.

Step 5: Glue the pieces to the skewer.

Step 6: Balance the glider with the clay.

Step 7: Happy flying!!!


You could also make a rubber band launcher, which will come in a later Instructable!
