Threadthe wriststrapthroughthe eyelet,then passthe otherend throughthe
loop and pull it tight.

Installingbatteries(See Fig.D-page 114.)


1. Pullthe batterychamberlid in the directionof the arrowto open.
2. Installtwo AAtype alkaline-manganese batterieswiththe + and - poles
orientedas showninsidethe batterychamber.
3. Pushthe batterychamberlid back into place untilit clicksshut.
Notes
.Do not use NiCd batteries.
.Removebatteriesfromthe camerawhen not in use for a longtime.
.Do not breakopen or try to rechargebatteries.
.Do notthrowbatteriesintoa fire.

1. Placethe cameraon a tripodor a secureflat surface.
2. Composethe pictureand pressthe Self-timer button.
oTheselttimerindicatorlamp lightsup for 7 sec.,then blinksfor 3 sec. before
the shutteris released.
'Self-timercan be canceledby pressingthe self{imerbuttonagainor turning
the power off.

oTheflashreadyLED blinkswhilethe flashis beingchargedand the shutter
releasebuttonis locked.

Red-eyereduction
In flashphotography, the subject'seyessometimesappearbrightred in color
pictures(whitein b/w ones)due to a phenomenonknownas "red-eye."To
reducethis effect,your cameracomeswith a [Link]
the shutterreleasebuttonis pressedlightly,the red-eyereductionlamp lights
up, causingthe sizeof the subject'spupilto grow smaller,thus reducingthe
of red-eyeeffect,Be sureto hold down the shutterreleasebutton
possibility
halfwayfor a few secondsto lightup the red-eyereductionlamp before
pressingthe buttonall the way to firethe [Link] red-eyereductionlamp
goes out after10 secondsautomatically whileholdingthe shutterrelease
buttonhalfway.

How to use focus lock (See Fig. l-page 119.)
1. Centerthe mainsubjectin the viewfinder.
2. Lightlypressthe shutterreleasebuttonto lock focuson the subject.
3. Keepingthe shutterreleasebuttonlightlypressed,recomposethe scene.
Thenfullydepressthe shutterreleasebutton.
Note:To cancelfocus lock,simplyremoveyour fingerfromthe shutterrelease
button.

Specialfocusing situations (See Fig.J-page 120.)


The followingsubjectsmay be too difficultto focus:
a. Subjectstoo smalt
b. Subjectsbehindglass
c. Darksubjectswith no reflection
surfaces,such as shinycars or water
d. Glossy,light-reflecting
e. Subjectswithoutsolidcontent([Link],fireworks,etc.)
ln the above cases, use focus lock.
