Pile Foundation Design

This document calculates the capacity of a pile foundation in granular soil using Broms' method. It provides details on the pile dimensions, soil properties of a two-layer system, and calculates the ultimate compression, uplift, and lateral load capacities. The compression capacity is 39.82 kN, uplift capacity is 5.82 kN, and lateral capacity is 2.22 kN. Applying factors of safety of 2.5, 2.5, and 1.5 respectively, the safe capacities are: compression 15.93 kN, uplift 3.77 kN, and lateral 1.48 kN. A load check shows all loads are within the safe capacities.
