Karaoke Report Start

This project report describes the development of a karaoke system using operational amplifiers and a standalone website for vocal elimination. The karaoke system removes the original vocalist's voice from a song using an out-of-phase stereo method and mixes in the user's voice from a microphone. The report outlines the hardware components and circuit design of the karaoke system. It also discusses implementing the same vocal elimination method on a website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Rust to make it lightweight and mobile-friendly. The system aims to provide singers feedback on their performance by evaluating synchronization with the music and improving background music quality.

ABSTRACT

Karaoke is a word derived from Japanese kara, "empty" or "void"(and ōkesutora, "orchestra") is a
form of entertainment in which users sing along with recorded music using a microphone and a
Power Amplifier system. The music is typically a well-known song in which the voice of the original
singer is removed or reduced in volume. So, the first phase of our karaoke machine involves
removing the original voice of the artist in a song using the Out of Phase Stereo method, then, we
attach the user’s voice using microphone simultaneously by adder circuit, such that the output tends
to deliver a song with the user’s voice in it, and we implement the same voice elimination method on
a standalone website using HTML, CSS, Javascript and Rust which is lightweight mobile friendly .
Our system compares a solo singing piece with the reference Karaoke VCD music using pitch,
volume, and rhythm-based features. By examining the consistency between the results of automated
singing evaluation with the subjective judgments of musicians, the system is capable of providing
singers with a reliable rating - to evaluate the synchronicity of the music between the singer and the
accompaniment, to improve the background music quality in the Karaoke service by utilizing the
harmonic information of the vocal object that can help in the removal of harmonics of the vocal
object remaining in the background music thus helping in remixing

Keywords- Out of phase Stereo method, Karaoke VCD music, Automated singing, Harmonics.
