TMT Steel Testing Report Request

1. RITES Limited has requested Jadavpur University to test steel reinforcement (TMT bars) that will be used by Bharat Trading Co. to construct buildings and a weigh bridge for Dalmia Railway siding under ECL project. 2. Samples of 12 steel rods of diameters 8mm, 12mm, 16mm and 20mm from SAIL have been sent for tensile strength, bend, rebound, unit weight, elongation, and proof stress tests according to relevant IS codes. 3. Bharat Trading Co. will pay the testing charges to Jadavpur University as per their terms and conditions.

Sir,
With reference to above M/s Bharat Trading Co. is executing the construction of new Panel Buildings,
Goods Storage, FOIS Room, Weigh Bridge Room etc. at Dalmia under Salanpur area of ECL. The
agency has already commenced the work at site.
In this connection testing of Steel Reinforcements (TMT Bars) is required to use the same for the
construction of Panel Buildings, Goods Storage, FOIS Room, Weigh Bridge Room etc. Required tests
may please be carried out as per relevant IS Codes in your laboratory.
3 (Three) nos. of each dia Rod, i.e., total 12 nos. Steel Rod samples (Make - SAIL) are sent herewith for
the following tests: -

Now, kindly arrange to carry out in your laboratory the above-mentioned tests as per relevant IS codes.
The test results may please be sent to the undersigned. Necessary payments for the above tests will be
made by M/s Bharat Trading Co. as per your terms & conditions.
