I
have decided to create a Paper Crane as an output.
As a student, I also have a part time job and it has been 2 years and a half since I started it. I am
studying and at the same time working as an ESL Tutor. I teach English to Japanese people. One time, a
student of mine shared an inspirational story to me and that is the story behind their Paper Crane.
Seventy six years ago, there was an injured woman because of an atomic bomb. While she was
in the hospital, she kept making Paper Canes because in Japan, there’s a superstition that if you were
able to create 1000 Paper Cranes, one wish will be granted. She wants to reach that numbers of Paper
Crane to make a wish for world peace, but sadly she died and not able to make it.
I wan’t to make Paper Cranes and give these to my Grandmother, she’s bedridden for almost 3
years and I know that the only wish she have right now is to be able to walk again. I wan’t to make
colorful Paper Cranes to make her life bright again. She is with me for 22 years, since my mother gave
birth to me and I owe my life to her too for raising me.
