Frequently Asked Questions
about Lingualizer
(so you don’t have to DM me about them)
What is your real name?
Peter.
Where are you from/what is your background story?
My entire family is Bulgarian, but my family migrated to Vienna, Austria before I was born,
which is why I call myself “a Bulgarian from Austria”. I was born and raised in Austria and
never lived in Bulgaria (1 month was the longest duration I spent there at once).
When were you born?
19.10.1992
What languages do you speak?
I’m fluent (C1-C2) in Bulgarian (though I speak a broken version of it), German and English.
I’m intermediate (B1-B2) in French and Spanish.
I'm pre-intermediate (A1-A2) in Serbian and Russian.
How did you learn the languages that you speak?
Bulgarian: I was raised with it and didn’t speak any other language until I went to
kindergarten, where I started learning German. At home/with my family I speak solely
Bulgarian. I can speak, write and read the language.
German: I live in Austria (official language is German).
English: In Austria you start learning it in primary school. Additionally, I went to a language
high-school and had English three times a week.
French: I had classes 3 times a week in highschool for 6 years straight.
Spanish: I had classes 2 times a week in highschool for 2 years and went to Valencia for a
semester abroad.
Serbian & Russian: I studied Slavistics for 1 year in college, but most of what I know comes
from paying attention in class..
How did you learn all the languages that you translate into in your videos?
I didn’t. I use (official) websites, friends and Google Translator to help me translate the stuff. I
speak only the languages listed above.
What is your favourite language?
I don’t have one.
What is your favourite country?
I don’t really have a favourite country either. If I had to choose one it would be Spain, I guess. I
just love high temperatures and its culture.
What is your favourite city?
Don’t have one. I really like Valencia and I kinda fell in love with Copenhagen when I went
there, but I don’t have a favourite one.
What do you think about my country?
That’s a weird question that I wouldn’t know how to answer. Do you mean from a political
view? Or the people? Or the culture? Or how it looks? I don’t really have overall opinions when
it comes to countries, thus I prefer not to answer this question.
What’s your job?
I’m a full-time YouTuber.
Are you single?
Yes.
How can I meet you on Omegle?
1) Use the tag “lingualizer”.
2) If I’m online at the same time it’s up to the algorithm to match us.
When are you on Omegle?
I don’t have a schedule as I don’t want to keep one in mind. I’m always online at random
times. Sometimes at 2pm, sometimes at 11pm.
Do you have any tips on how to get better at languages?
Visit courses, watch TV shows/movies in the target language, read books, use apps, talk
with native speakers.
What’s the easiest way to learn a language?
There is none. Everything in life requires work. For some people more, for some people
less. But “easiest way” sounds like you want a shortcut because you don’t want to put in
the work. It just doesn’t work like that. In that case I’d suggest you visit a course, as it
requires the least amount of self organisation.
Why do you never/barely ever include my language in your videos?
Because I hate you.
I’m kidding, obviously. There are a few possible reasons:
1. I cannot include EVERY language in EVERY video. There are 190+ countries in this world and
a few thousand official languages. There’s no way I can make everyone happy with every
video.
2. I try to make the videos as entertaining as possible, and some of my ideas require me to
limit the languages to 15-20 per video. If I tried to include 50+ languages people just wouldn’t
watch a lot of the videos because they’d be way too long - which would make my channel
suffer. So, in order to make you as happy as possible, I try to include your language every now
and then.
3. When it comes to Arabic languages I just cannot include them, unless I use Google
translator in the video or it’s a “made by you” video, where you submit your own video. Why
can I not include Arabic languages? Because I cannot read the language or find a Latin
translation for the respective phrase. How am I supposed to include your language when I
cannot even read it? If you take Greek as an example, I cannot read it either, but if I paste it in
Google Translate you get a Latin translation and a voice sample. That way I can practice
pronunciation at least. But that doesn’t work with Arabic languages, unfortunately.
When will the next video be posted?
Whenever it’s ready. Stop asking this question, because it puts a lot of pressure on me and
only delays the release of the next video. Be patient.
Why didn’t you include me in your “videos made by you” video?
There are a few possible reasons:
1. You didn’t follow at least one of the rules (horizontal video, 2-seconds rule,
light-on-your-face rule).
2. You submitted your video after the deadline.
3. The quality of your video/sound was below acceptable.
4. Your video wasn’t as creative/good as other people’s videos.
5. I received a lot of submissions in your language and had to choose a few. Even if your
video wasn’t worse than the other ones, you just weren’t within the randomly chosen
ones.
6. You might have been featured in a previous video. I try to give new people a chance to
be part of the next one, which is why I prioritize them higher.
Why didn’t you include my joke in your “If Countries Had WhatsApp” video?
I receive about 100 jokes daily and take only the best ones, in order to make the video as
funny/entertaining as possible. Your joke was just not good enough (compared to the rest).
You’re a racist for not including my language in your videos!
First of all: why am I a racist for not including your language but it’s fine if I don’t include a
certain other language? Like, why don’t you call me out on ALL languages that I don’t use, but
only on yours? That’s called being hypocritical, just saying.
Second of all: If you think this makes me a racist, then you either don’t know the definition of
racism or you’re just butthurt. Or both.
You’re a racist for making fun of my language/city/country/whatever in your
videos!
First of all: it’s called a joke.
Second of all: Stereotypes exist, whether we want it or not, and the best way to get over some
of those that might be annoying is to laugh about them.
Third of all: if I laugh because of how funny or weird a language sounds to me… why would
you take it personally? I’m trying to entertain people, and if I never laughed about what I find
funny I wouldn’t be myself.
I’d rather get hate from some people for something that I do than be accepted by everyone
but not be happy with myself.
Can you give me a shout-out?
No, sorry. If I give you a shout-out it’s because I like your content. But people who make great
content don’t ask for shout-outs.
I get it. You want to feel special because someone with a big following shouts you out. But I’ll
give you a tip: Make good content and people will shout you out automatically.
Can you follow me?
But… why? If I wanted to follow you I’d do it without you asking me. Stop DMing people if they
can follow you and start doing something for it, lazy ass.
