Troubleshooting.

How it works and the installation process plus coverage

Zuku TV has had 4 different sets of decoder types.

ADTH decoder type; CSTB3032z-s, CSTB3032Z, STB1010Z, STB2020Z (oldest decoder types)
ADH Errors

REMARKS

E41 No Program means that the STB cannot read any tables. Under normal circumstances, this
should not ever happen. The only way that I can imagine this error occurring would be if the
headend were not spooling out tables.

So, to troubleshoot this:

- Make sure the customer is not in any menu items. The screen should
typically have the Zuku logo on the screen with the pop-up error.
- Have the customer should verify that they have signal lock by pressing
the signal button on the remote control.
- Both bars should be green. If they are not, then proceed to E48 No
Signal.
- If they are green, Have the customer press exit to leave the signal
strength meter.
- Next, have them hit menu.
o Select Installation
o Enter the PIN (Default is 0000)
o Select Manual Search
o Enter the PIN again (Default is 0000)
- The STB should then go into program search mode. Currently it will find
a total of 70 TV and 37 radio services. If it does not find any programs,
there is likely a problem with the headend, and needs to be escalated
to the NOC for immediate evaluation.

E48 No Signal means that the STB cannot lock onto the signal from the satellite. There are a
variety of reasons for this with the most likely 3 being

o the dish is out of alignment,

o the coax is disconnected from either the dish or STB,
o or the coax has been damaged along the run.
NB:- This assumes that they are not in a rain fade or solar outage.

o E48 can also be caused by failure of the LNB, which is less

common, but can still happen.

To conduct a software update via satellite OTA on a decoder, the user should go to the menu, select systems upgrade and press OK. Navigate to OTA upgrade and enter the default password 0000. The satellite configuration for the upgrade should be set to Satellite – SES 5, Frequency – 11727, Symbol rate – 27487, Polarization – Horizontal, and download PID – 3804 with Table ID – 156. Then, the green button is pressed to initiate the software download .

To perform a manual channel search, press Menu, go to installation, and input the password 0000. Select manual search, press OK, and allow the decoder to search for channels .

To perform a factory reset, press Menu on the remote, navigate to 'Tools', and select 'Factory Settings'. Confirm by pressing OK, then proceed to list the TP and conduct a single satellite search. This reset may be necessary in scenarios where the decoder is experiencing persistent issues with no signal, missing channels, or after substantial software changes that recommend a reset to default settings to ensure optimal functionality .

To change the default parental control password on a decoder, press Menu, scroll to Change Password, and press OK. Enter the existing password 0000, then input the new password and confirm it. Press exit, and then OK to save the changes .

To lock specific channels, press the Menu button, scroll down to Channel Management, enter the password 0000, identify the channel(s) to lock, and mark them by pressing the blue button. Then press exit and OK to save the changes. Customers might want to lock channels to restrict access to certain channels due to content sensitivity or parental control reasons .

The LED indicator lights on a decoder help diagnose signal feed issues. Typically, the decoder should have two active green lights; if only one is active, it suggests a problem with the signal feed from the dish. The lights help confirm whether the signal is being received properly, assisting in troubleshooting problems like loss of signal .

When a 'No Signal' error appears on a Technicolor decoder, the customer should first ensure all cables are well connected, particularly checking the RFSAT1 terminal to make sure it is firmly connected. If the error persists, a hard reset is needed by long pressing the power button until the digital display shows 0000 and the Zuku logo appears on the TV screen. After this, proceed with the first installation setup by selecting the language, TV format ratio, and allowing the decoder to lock onto the Zuku network to scan the channels .

Optimal signal levels should show 90 for intensity and 70 for quality. If these levels aren't met, firstly check for loose connections or weather interruptions. Verify the LNB power is enabled via Menu > System setup > Others > LNB power ON. If no issues are found with these checks, it's likely the dish alignment needs adjusting, possibly requiring a technician's assistance .

Ensure the decoder is powered on and displaying a channel number. Check RCA/HDMI cables are correctly and firmly connected at both ends. Confirm the TV is not in radio mode by pressing HOME on the remote, then selecting TV. If the issue persists, perform a quick power cycle of the decoder to see if the Zuku logo appears, indicating a reset .

For missing channels, the customer should first verify if the channels are included in their package and are on the channel list by using the remote. If the channels are not displaying, the customer should unplug and replug the signal cable, ensuring a firm connection. An auto search or factory reset should then be performed through Menu > Installation > Auto Search. If channels are still missing, a technician may be needed to realign the dish or LNB .
