The Hampshire pig is a domestic

swine breed characterized by erect


ears, a black body, and a white band
around the middle, covering the front
legs.

The Duroc pig is an older breed of


domestic pig. The breed was
developed in the United States and
formed the basis for many mixed-
breed commercial hogs. Duroc pigs
are reddish-brown, large-framed,
medium length, and muscular, with
partially-drooping ears.

Brahman cow breed originated from
India. But modern brahman cow is made
from artificial insemination of Indian,
European and American high productive
cow breed. The main characteristics of

Ongole cattle is an indigenous cattle


breed that originates from Prakasam
District in the state of Andhra
Pradesh in India. The breed derives its
name from the place the breed
originates from, Ongole. The Ongole
breed of cattle, Bos Indicus, has a great
demand as it is said to possess
resistance to both foot and mouth
disease and mad cow disease.[1] These
cattle are commonly used in bull fights
in Mexico and some parts of East
Africa due to their strength and
aggressiveness. They also participate in
traditional bull fights in Andhra
Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Cattle
breeders use the fighting ability of the
bulls to choose the right stock for
breeding in terms of purity and strength.
Nelore or Nellore cattle originated
from Ongole Cattle (Bos indicus) cattle
originally brought to Brazil from India.
They are named after the district
of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh state
in India. The Nelore has a distinct large
hump over the top of the shoulder and
neck. They have long legs which help
them to walk in water and when grazing.
The Nelore can adapt to all except very
cold climates. They are very resistant to
high temperatures and have natural
resistance to various parasites and
diseases. Brazil is the largest breeder of
Nelore. Nelore have the shortest ears of
most Bos indicus types. There is a
naturally polled strain of the breed.

The Santa Gertrudis is a hardy,


medium-framed, short-haired animal,
and well adapted to a variety of
climatic conditions.

The Bali cattle (Bos javanicus
domesticus) also known as Balinese
cattle are a domesticated form of
the Javan banteng. Bali cattle were
an important source of meat and
were used for plowing. Bali cattle are
a domestic subspecies originated
in Indonesia.

The banteng (/ˈbæntɛŋ/; Javanese: bant
hèng), also known as tembadau, (Bos
javanicus) is a species of wild
cattle found in Southeast Asia.
Banteng have been domesticated in
several places in Southeast Asia, and
there are around 1.5 million domestic
banteng, which are called Bali cattle.
These animals are used as working
animals and for their meat.[3] Banteng
have also been introduced to Northern
Australia, where they have established
stable feral populations.[4]
The Brown Swiss or Braunvieh is
light brown in colour with a creamy
white muzzle and dark noze, dark-
blue eye pigmentation which helps
the breed to resist extreme solar
radiation. Brown Swiss cattle have
been bred horned and polled, when
horned the horns are short and white
growing dark towards the top. Brown
Swiss are robust, a prolific breeder,
long-lived, strong, adaptable, and
very well-balanced in build with good
hooves and limbs.

Holstein Friesians (often shortened


to Holsteins in North America, while the
term Friesians is often used in the UK
and Ireland) are a breed of dairy
cattle originating from the Dutch
provinces of North
Holland and Friesland, and Schleswig-
Holstein in Northern
Germanyand Jutland. They are known
as the world's highest-production dairy
animals.
The Dutch and German breeders bred
and oversaw the development of the
breed with the goal of obtaining animals
that could best use grass, the area's
most abundant resource. Over the
centuries, the result was a high-
producing, black-and-white dairy cow.
Sahiwal is considered to be one of the
best milch cattle breed of India. The
breed derives its name from Sahiwal
area in Montgomery district of Punjab in
Pakistan. These animals are also known
as “Lambi Bar”, “Lola”, “Montgomery”,
“Multani” and “Teli”. The animals are
very good for specialized dairy purpose.
The cows are brownish red in colour;
shades may vary from a mahogany red
brown to more greyish red. Extremities
in bulls are darker than rest of body
colour. Occasionally there are white
patches. Animals have well developed
udder, good slope at rump and shorter
horns. Dewlap is medium in size. 

It is native to Tharparkar district


(Western Pakistan). It is mainly
found in Jodhpur, Kutch and
Jaisalmer regions of India. It is also
known as “Gray Sindhi”, “White
Sindhi” and “Thari”. It has white to
ash color body, medium sized head,
wide head; horns are lyre-shaped
and are sharp from the edge. They
have small legs, thin and long tail,
big and wide hunchback and big size
udder having teats at the proper
distance.
