Resident Warden
Primrose Retirement Home,
High Street
Minehead
13rd May 2018
Dear Mrs Jackson,
Re: Marjorie Mellor, 77 years old.
Mrs. Mellor was admitted to our surgical award on 10th May 2018, with multiple leg
injuries and Closed Colles’ fracture of her right radius. After appropriate treatment, she
is making good progress, but will require care and support as she recovers.
We have given Mrs Mellor some guidelines to follow post-discharge today, wich include
applying Midhoney ointment in her wound area on her legs, two times per day. Her
analgesia Naproxen 500 mg 1 tab oral will be given to her as she requires. She will
need to be given antibiotic therapy, cefuroxime intravenous.
Mrs. Mellor will need assistance with her activities of daily living, as showering,
dressing, at the beginning. It would be very appreciated if you could encourage her to
be more independent doing these chores.
It is important that she keeps the wrist dressing clean and dry, to prevent wound
complications.
Mrs Mellor will have physiotherapy outpatients three times per week, from day 15 th
may. It would be very cherishing if she could avoid lifting heavy objects. At day 20 th
may, the stitches will need to be removed. She will have orthopedic outpatients and will
be necessary to be accompanied by someone.
If any further information is needed, regarding Mrs Mellor, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Yours sincerely,
Charge Nurse
