3 The Snowball Method

The Snowball Method is a football trading strategy that targets matches where the market expects goals but the strategy expects a slow start. It involves backing the Under 2.5 Goals market for the full stake, then laying off portions of the stake in increments as the odds improve to lock in profits. The aim is to cash out for an equal profit if a goal is scored early, or cash out if the action starts to get intense. Managing the trade partially lays off risk for potential losses if a goal is conceded.

THE SNOWBALL

METHOD
A new spin on an old football
trading strategy!
THE SNOWBALL
METHOD
 COLD Strategy
 Under 2.5 Goals Market
 Medium Frequency
 Liquidity Dependent
SCENARIO

 A match where the market

expects goals but we expect it
to start slow.
Ideal matches

 Under 2.5 Goals priced between 2.02

and 2.98
 Usually when there is a heavy odds-on
favourite (1.50 or lower)
Ideal matches

 Favourites you know start slow

 Favourite is away from home
 Underdog is good at parking the bus
 High profile match
Ideal matches

 Pre match stats not so relevant

 But the first 5 minutes is crucial!

Entry Points
 Ideally, only on matches you can
watch live!
 At kick-off, back Under 2.5 Goals
with 100% of your stake…
Exit Points
Put orders in the market
to lay back your stake
every 20 ticks and 25%
at a time.
Exit Points
For example…
Back Under 2.5 with £100 @ 2.20
Lay Under 2.5 with £25 @ 2.0
Lay Under 2.5 with £25 @ 1.80
Lay Under 2.5 with £25 @ 1.60
Cash out for equal profits @ 1.40
Exit Points

Or cash out if a goal is scored at

anytime
Exit Points
By drip-laying our stake
back we are softening a
potential big loss if a goal
is scored
Exit Immediately If
 The match starts HOT and you see a
significant attacking play.
 The market is not moving fast enough.
The 5 Minute Rule
 If your first lay bet has not been taken
by the 5th minute then the market is
probably moving too slow.
 GET OUT!
Best Case Scenario

All parts matched with

no goal and we cash out!
Worst Case Scenario

Goal before any parts

matched.
BONUS TIP
 If the market is moving slow this
usually means there is an
opportunity for another strategy
i.e the fireball or reback.
 So switch!
What To Expect
 There will be goals scored whilst your
trade is open.
 Getting the full profit will not happen
every trade.
 Expect the worse case scenario 1 in every
10 trades
ANOTHER BONUS TIP

 Cash out and take a profit once the match

starts to warm up.
 You do not have to stay till the end!
THE SNOWBALL
METHOD
 A match where the market expects goals
but it starts slow.
 Back Under 2.5 goals then drip lay our
stake back 25% at a time every 20 ticks.
 Cash out if a goal is scored or if the action
starts to warm up!
