TRANSLATE
Translating Sections of Text in Word
You can quickly translate small snippets of words and phrases as well as entire sections of text
from one language to another in Microsoft Word. Word will automatically try to determine the
language, but you can set this manually if you need to.
To start, open a Word document and select the text you want to translate. When you’re ready,
click the “Review” tab on the ribbon bar and then select the “ Translate ” button

WHITE SPACE
White space is any section of a document that is unused or space around an object. White spaces
help separate paragraphs of text, graphics, and other portions of a document, and helps a
document look less crowded. Using white space effectively in a document keeps the reader
reading the document, and helps the reader quickly find what they are interested in reading.
How to hide white space
1. Click File tab
2. Go to " Options "
3. Then, Select Display Button
4. Pick up the check box, show white space between pages in print layout view

Three Character Spacing Options In MS Word
1) Normal: The "Normal" option represents the default character spacing in Word.
It maintains the standard spacing between characters based on the selected font
and size. This option is suitable for regular text formatting without any specific
adjustments to character spacing.
2) Expanded: The "Expanded" option increases the space between characters. It
adds extra space between each character, making the text appear wider. This can be
useful for emphasizing individual characters or for creating a more open and airy
look in your text.
3) Condensed : The "Condensed" option decreases the space between characters. It
reduces the space between each character, making the text appear narrower. This
option is useful when you have limited space or want to fit more text within a
specific area.
To access these character spacing “Normal space, expanded space & Condensed Space ”
1. Select the text that you want to change.
2. On the Home tab,
3. Click the Font dialog box launcher (circled in green in the screenshot below),
and then
4. Click the “Advanced” .
5. In the Spacing box, click Normal, Expanded or Condensed, and then specify how
much space you want in the By box.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOME KEY / END KEY PAGE UP / PAGE DOWN
1) Home key is a control key for returning the text cursor to the beginning of the line on
which you're currently typing.
CTRL+HOME : Moves the cursor to the beginning of the document.
This key may also move the cursor to the beginning of a document.
2) End key is a key found on a computer keyboard that moves the cursor to the end of the
line, document, page.
CTRL+END : means Go to end of a document .
3) Page Up - moves the flashing cursor UP one-page length.
4) Page Down - moves the flashing cursor DOWN one-page length.
The Page Up and Page Down keys (sometimes abbreviated as PgUp and PgDn) are two
keys commonly found on computer keyboards.
The two keys are primarily used to scroll up or down in documents, but the scrolling distance
varies between different applications. In word processors, for instance, they may jump by an
emulated physical page or by a screen view that may show only part of one page or many
pages at once depending on zoom factor.
6
Three Option Types Of The Page Break.
1). Page break : Are also used to start a chapter a new page .
Page break Will force all the text behind the cursor onto the next page.
A plain, old Page Break is likely the most commonly used of the three. When you select this
option from the Breaks list, everything to the right of your cursor will drop down to a new page.
2). Column Break : When creating multiple columns, you can apply a column break to balance
the appearance of the columns. any text following the column break will begin in the next
column.
3). Text Wrapping Break : When text has been wrapped around an image or object, you can
use a text-wrapping break to end the wrapping and begin typing on the line below the image.
Text Wrapping : Separates the text around objects on a web page, such as caption
text from body text.
If you have images or objects in your document, a Text Wrapping Break can be super useful.
Rather than having extra paragraph marks or text that drop below your image correctly, this
type of Page Break saves the day.

KEYBAORD ( TYPING SKILLS )
Typing Skills – the ability to input information at a keyboard smoothly while typing.
Here are a few of the reasons why learning how to type fast is so beneficial in general life
and in work.
1) Save Time
Typing is something most of us will have to do a lot of in our jobs. Whether you work in an
office or not, you will probably end up having to type on a computer keyboard on a weekly
or even daily basis.
It stands to reason that the faster you can type, the more time you will save.
When you are tasked with typing up a report, or even when you have to send an email, if you
can do so quickly while remaining accurate, you could end up saving a lot of time.
Just think of all those emails most people send every day. Add up the time you can save typing
up each email, and over the weeks and months that could add up to a lot of saved time.
2) Be More Productive
Everyone is looking for ways to be more productive both in the workplace and at home,
and typing faster is a simple way to get more done.
If you learn to double the speed you type, you can essentially get twice as much done in the same
space of time.
Employers might even want to ensure their employees are trained up in touch-typing due to the
productivity boost it could lead to.
And if you are an employee, you could learn how to increase your typing speed to impress your
boss, or you can simply give yourself more time to spend on other things.
8
3) Improve Your Position
Posture may not be the first thing you think about when you decide to increase your typing
speed, but it can certainly benefit.
No matter whether you can touch type or not, you will still spend a lot of your time typing in
almost any office-based role. Everyone knows that sitting down at your desk for long periods of
time without a break is bad for your posture, so it makes sense to reduce the amount of time you
sit down.
If a lot of your time sitting at your desk is spent typing, you might be able to improve your
posture and your health by increasing your typing speed. This will mean less time spent typing at
your desk, and that will lead to more time spent standing up and stretching so as not to hurt your
back, neck, and shoulders.
When you learn to touch type, you will also learn about correct typing posture. It's very
important to sit up properly in order to stop your neck from becoming stiff and prevent your
wrists from causing you pain. You will become more aware of correct posture when you learn to
type properly, and you also won't have to keep looking down at your keyboard, which gives your
neck a break and reduces aching.
For more on the importance of posture and how to set up your workplace see our page
on Ergonomics.
4) Improve Your Focus
Another benefit of learning to type faster is that you will not have to look at the keyboard
and think about where your fingers are going. Once you are typing fast, you will be able to
look directly at the screen, and your fingers will type without you even thinking about the
movements.
This means that you will be able to improve your focus. Every time you look down and try to
find a key, you are losing concentration, so you will be able to focus more on what you are trying
to say than the actual letters that you are typing.
9
So learn how to type properly and improve your focus, which will lead to a better flow and your
thoughts won't be interrupted as much.
5) Find More Opportunities
Finally, because touch-typing is such a useful skill that boosts productivity in the workplace, it
can help you to find more and better opportunities when it comes to getting a job.
When applying for a job, being able to type fast and accurately is going to put you at a big
advantage. Employers like to know that their employees can type properly because it will make
them more productive and improve the accuracy of their work.
So make sure you clearly state your word per minute (WPM) on your resume to impress
prospective employers, and you may find that more opportunities come your way.
