Service Information
The above mentioned vehicles are now receiving the additional application of supporting cables, in the connec-
tion system of the inlet air after-cooler (intake piping/air after-cooler connection).
Such application, carried out as per the following indications, has the purpose of reducing the mechanical efforts
and movements of great amplitude in the referred connection system.

The application of supporting cables must be extended also to the vehicles with chassis of final Nº infe-
rior to ...091789. When making the installation, observe that:
• The installed connection hoses/clips are those prescribed (see S.I. - Gr.: 09 - Nº: 02/95), that is:
386 528 78 82 - red hose, length 280•3mm (air after-cooler inlet).
386 528 83 82 - black hose, length 280•3mm (air after-cooler outlet).
384 997 75 90 - clips (of constant torque).
• No posterior interference occurs between supporting cables and connection hoses.
Considering that such occurrence, caused by a possible dimensional variation of the connection hoses (in
certain conditions of engine operation) and by an eventual incorrect positioning of the radiator, will result in
the damnification/perforation of the hoses, we recommend:
- After applying grease/paint (any product which may be marked by touching) in the supporting cables,
make a course with the vehicle. Check if any interference between hoses and cables has occurred.
If an eventual interference is observed, check the radiator positioning. If necessary, after loosening suffi-
ciently the supporting cables, correct the positioning of the same, observing the necessary condition that
1/3 of the ventilator blades width must surpass the radiator skirt.
After the correction, tension the supporting cables again, as indicated in the Annex.
NOTES:
• The supporting cables installation should be carried out without charge for the Client. For reimbursement,
send a Request of Warranty (S.G.) to the Factory, mentioning the number of this S.I.
• The parts necessary to execute the service must be requested to the Depto. Engenharia de Serviço e Garan-
tia (XESG/XPGT) (Engineering of Servive and Warranty Dept.), by means of the references indicated in the
table INVOLVED PARTS. The same will be supplied without charge.
