The Law Development Centre (LDC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates
(Ugandans) to fill the vacant positions below, tenable at the LDC Mbale campus.

Job Title: Assistant Lecturer

Reports to: Head Postgraduate Legal Studies & Legal Aid

Salary grade: N/a

Type of Contract: Part time (1 year), renewable

Duty Station / No. of vacancies: Mbale campus - 20

Job Purpose:
To teach the prescribed subject and offer professional advice to students in the allocated
subject(s).

Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Teaching the prescribed subject or subjects.
2. Setting and marking examinations.
3. Marking Individual Assessments.
4. Presiding over moots.
5. Invigilation of examinations.
6. Meeting with and advising students.
7. Supervising students during clerkship and writing clerkship reports.
8. Attending pre-teaching meetings.
9. Any other relevant duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:


i. Bachelor of Laws- LLB (Hon) degree.
ii. Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
iii. Masters in Law- LLM shall be an added advantage.
iv. Must be an enrolled Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
v. At least six (6) years’ work experience as a private or public legal practitioner.
