Lesson Plan
The Mitten
Story Summary
A boy’s lost mitten is discovered by a group of
curious woodland animals in this sweet retelling of
the classic Ukranian folk tale. This charming story
about a lost mitten and how it is used by different
animals demonstrates the importance for those
with differences to be able to coexist in a given
environment. It is a subtle lesson about our ability
to live together and the importance of it—all these
different animals are snug and warm within the
Book Information mitten, and are snug and warm because they share
the space together.
